This is a move that I expected and I like.

It adds a 3rd/4th line C/W that has some size, a cup ring, and can kill penalties.

Add in that it's 1 year $1M per TSN and I like this signing a lot.

Alright, I like it, but we need scoring. If we get a scorer this year, say like Gagne (just an example), we will be a good team.

I love this signing. Not for what he'll produce but for his experience which is important to our front line. Not a HUGE move that people were screaming for but hey, I can't complain.

Given Regier's track record of minor tweaks, this deal falls in line with the Montador & Grier deals last summer.

Expecting Regier to get a "name" top 6 forward isn't realistic, IMO.

I would really like to find the happy medium with this team. Two years ago we were crying out for Grit and defensive play......now we have that...but lost our scoring. The roller coaster ride that is being a Sabres fan continues!

I think this just means Ellis won't be back, and we have a better player instead.

I think Ellis may come back anyways, because there's no way Kennedy or Gerbe play the fourth line and Niedermayer is a third line shutdown guy, not a fourth liner.

Also, hasn't this been merged yet?

Isn't Staff expendable too? And if we package him to find a replacement doesn't that make Timmy expendable? I'm not as up to speed on the trade front as some of you but wouldn't it make sense to treat Timmy like a hot potato? Trade him while he's hot and un-broken before we get stuck with a lame horse again? What do you all think this trade means in the terms of the future of Staff and or Timmy? Think Darcy ill be making a bigger move coming up to improve our second or first lines?
