As per TSN....

Evgeni Nabokov is leaving the San Jose Sharks for the Kontinental Hockey League.

Various reports on Wednesday valued his deal with SKA St. Petersburg at six years and $24 million.

Nabokov, 34, leaves the NHL after posting one of his best seasons to date. In 2009-10 he went 44-16-10 with a 2.43 GAA and .922 save percentage for San Jose.

The goalie spent all 10 of his seasons with the Sharks, the club that drafted him in the 9th round of the 1994 draft. He won the Calder Trophy as Rookie of the Year in 2000-01, and was named a first-team All-Star in 2007-08.

Nabokov also played three games for Russia at the Vancouver Olympics, where he posted a 2-1 record with a 4.16 GAA.

SKA St. Petersburg also boasts former NHL players Sergei Zubov, Darius Kasparaitis, Alexei Yashin, and Sergei Brylin.

Good lord I'm playing as this team all the time if it's in NHL 11.

Lol HMKG

Why do we hate Nabokov? Isn't his save pct. in the playoffs better than in the regular season?

I mean is it really his fault his team could only score 1.75 goals per game against Chicago?

Or that the Sharks gave the puck away 54 times to Chicago's 28?

I dont hate him, that roster is just STACKED....10 years too late., lol.

Back on topic. Nabby was a GREAT playoff goalie, and a GREAT goalie in general, it wasnt his fault his team couldnt score for shit in this years playoffs and many others previous to it. Nabby's playoff issues always came more from the fact that his teammates always played like it was the Chic-Fil-A-Peach Bowl and not the Rose Bowl. That team will miss him BADLY this season, mark my words....

I thought Nabby was known for not being a stellar playoff goaltender.
