This move pisses me off. When's Enroth going to get his chance to prove his worth? He's not even valuable trade bait until he gets some NHL starts.

Lalime better come back in the best shape of his life, because if he doesn't I won't feel sorry for him when he gets booed for a soft goal.

Miller waited a good five years before he got his chance. Goalies take a long long time to develop.

Relax PSP, Enroth playing 60 games in the AHL is better than playing 15 in the NHL. He'll be ready next summer.

Enroth seems like he has HORRIBLE positioning.

True, but he had a save percentage of .907 and a 2.81 gaa. Thats not bad for much we complained about him. We never looked inspired when he was in net and in return he didn't make the saves when they needed to be made. Towards the end of the season when the team started to play better in front of him, his play picked up.

Enroth still hasn't put together a good full season in the AHL yet. He's put up some stellar numbers but hasn't shown the consitency of a starter. Until he shows that he wont be brought to be groomed by Miller.

Towards the end of the season we had Miller... That was TWO seasons ago, and he really wasn't very good.

Lalime isn't Miller. People need to realize this. We're so used to seeing world class goaltending all the time with Miller that we forget that backups are not Hobey Baker winning/two time ECF appearing/Vezina trophy garnering/silver medal wearing goaltenders. We're so spoiled with Miller we tend to just shit on Lalime for not being him, and thats completely unfair.

For a backup Lalime is better than average I think. What I see as the biggest issue with Lalime is the team in front of him. They play much more timid, make more mistakes because they're not playing their "system" and Lalime suffers for it. Theres not one person in here that can convince me that this team plays the same in front of Miller as they do in front of Lalime and unfortunately, Patty is the one that catches all the shit for it.

That doesn't make sense to me. He's supposedly such a well liked guy in the locker room, so why isn't the team showing the same respect for Lalime on the ice that they show Miller?

It's an, "oh I guess this game doesn't mean as much so I can slack off" type of response from a team needing leadership or an attitude adjustment.

It has nothing to do with being well-liked or his social ability and respect in the locker room and it has EVERYTHING to do with the teams confidence in his abilities as a hockey player. I work with a girl who is the sweetest, coolest, most down to earth person I know and I love her. She's on our work softball team and literally HAS NOT MADE CONTACT WITH THE BALL once at bat over 7 games. She sucks. But, my not having confidence in her ability to play softball does not take away from the enormous respect I have for her or how well we get along. You are comparing apples to oranges my friend

At this point, he's better than Enroth. It's true.

Agreed. Enroth is unproven, although a decent prospect according to most experts. But I like to listen to people who have played hockey before because I think it lends a different viewpoint than most, and irony, being a goalie, thinks that for his height, and style (butterfly) Enroth will be picked apart at the NHL level and I tend to believe him. Enroth is not big, and no matter how positionally sound you are, being that small limits your ability to take up space and also reduces your ability to cut down angles. Not saying he'll be awful, but....I like Patty better now and if we had to package Enroth to get something, I wouldn't miss him...........

The only good thing about this signing is that Enroth will get a ton of games in Portland rather than only play about 10-15games in Buffalo.

And they are better options (Roloson) out in the FA market right now. If Miller gets hurt, god forbid, the season is over

With our team, if Miller gets hurt the season is over anyway.
