Michael Jordan could have left Chicago. He decided to stay.

Kobe Bryant was considering demanding a trade from LA. He decided to stay.

Kevin Garnet stayed in a hopeless situation for the T'Wolves until they moved him to give him a chance at a ring.

Tim Duncan could have left San Antonio. He decided to stay.

(I'd toss D-Wade in here, but odds are good that the only reason he stayed was because he knew Bosh and LeBron were coming.)

I rank every one of these players above LeBron now.

This whole LeBron James situation is one of the most embarrassing things I've ever seen in all of sports.

Howard Simon on WGR this morning was blathering about how this letter was 'inciting Cleveland fans to go and destroy LeBron's property'. He's usually pretty solid, but that was probably the stupidest thing I've ever heard someone say.

Hahahaha...like Cavs fans needed any more motivation to want to vandalize his home.

Giving up in the playoffs the last 2 years and not returning a single call from the owner who's paid you millions are 2 ways that Lebron is a bitch coward.

How does a self-dubbed King ask permission to join another superstar's team?

He's a punk bitch....and no matter how many titles he wins in Miami....Wade will be +1 on him.

F Lebron as today I'm now pulling for the Lakers. (And I've was born a Laker hater.) You think Kobe's on he phone asking to play on another superstar's team. Kobe probably stopped for 5 minutes to hear where Lebron's destination city was and then went back to practice.

That's probably the stupidest letter I've ever seen. Sure, it's full of fire and passion, but none of it is true! The Cavs are going back to being mediocre while Lebron is going win multiple titles down in Miami. So....

That's the kind of thing you write and then delete without ever letting another soul see it.

Tom Golisano did guarantee that the Sabres would win the Cup the second year? of his ownership (I think it was the second season). Obviously, that didn't happen, but...

I'm sorry guys, but the guy is free to do whatever the hell he wants.

He's not going for money, he's going for the better chance to win. He's Marian Hossa lol

You're yet another person who is completely missing the point. It's not THAT he did it - it's HOW he did it. I swear, I'm going to have that sentence burned into my brain.

THIS. It just show how bad his ego is.... I'm praying, just praying that Miami turns into another Washington Redskins where they pay out their ass for the "BIG" names to win a title and then takes it the ass when they miss the playoffs year after year after year. Both of them acted childish in this situation.

michael jordan got bored, and left the bulls to play baseball. we all know how that went. and its funny, cause the united center was basically built cause he was a bull. they built it, and he left the season before it opened.

kobe bryant was traded because he refused to play for that organization, and orchestrated a trade to LA because thats the only place he would play.

yeah, he left on kinda shitty terms. but lebron has always been classy and kept his nose out of trouble. hes not leaving cause of money, he wants to win. ESPN came to him with this idea, he accepted and gave all the money from the event to charity.

it is what it is, he left to win. how thats linked to his huge ego, i have no idea.

fun read. havnt been in the news awhile? well, then just fabricate something!

He didn't. He almost did after it came out that he wanted a trade, but ended up staying put.

Seriously??? He turned his free agency into a reality TV show spectacle, all while giving a big "fuck you" to the Cavs and their fans. It doesn't matter that wanted to leave Cleveland because he wanted a better chance to win a championship, I understand that... He's not the first superstar athlete to do that and he certainly won't be the last. But how he handled the entire ordeal was completely embarrassing and it made him look like an asshole. What LeBron did was a perfect example how sometimes professional athletes can get caught up in being a celebrity instead of being an athlete.

Well, true. But the trade demands I'm talking about happened in L.A.

Edit: Didn't see your post above, Mike. My bad.

the whole thing sucks. lebrons a villain, the cavs are up fucked creek, and the NBA will suffer as a whole. everyone wants the NHL to be where it was in 1995, here is that chance. lebrons move didnt change just basketball. the ripple willl be felt in every major sport, some how, some way.
