PETA has no room to talk, having put down 23,000+ animals since 1998.

PETA can go fuck themselves. They do more harm than good towards animal rights with their publicity stunts and outrageous PR demands.

I just made 10 lbs of sausage so PETA being pissed makes me very happy.

and yeah, your local SPCA has a better track record than PETA when it comes to the percentage of animals in their care that get killed.

Yea, fuck PETA. I'll stop eating meat when it stops tasting good.

PETA annoys me... along with pretty much everyone else who knows what it is lol.

Most places in the world have stray dogs like Cheektowaga has deer.

I love how a story that has NOTHING to do with PETA is causing a hate-fest here. Jesus people, just because someone thinks differently than you doesn't mean they're trying to change your lifestyle. Calm the fuck down.

The Ethical Treatment of Animals doesn't = not eating meat which is exactly the way you all are portaying it.

PETA's agenda extends far beyond ethical treatment of animals. Hell, they consider the act of keeping an animal as a pet to be a form of slavery.

You all? Jesus, for someone who criticizes gross generalizations, way to engage in one. I made an amusing anecdote about a Facebook group AFTER addressing the article in the original post. Some members may have run with that angle, but I stand firm in my belief that PETA can go fuck themselves, especially if they catch wind of the story in the original post and run wild with it.

Every single post was about PETA and anti-PETA. I'd call that an accurate observation more than a generalization.

Yea, about PETA. You're zeroing in on the vegan aspect of three posts. Which (veganism, I mean) is one of PETA's main campaign points. But I digress, when the title of the topic is "PETAs going to be piiiiiiiiissed", and the O.P. links to story about mass numbers of euthanized animals, of course EVERY post is going to be about PETA, who euthanizes more animals than anybody on a given year. After all, it is an INTERNATIONAL organization and the article cites that the dogs were put down on FOREIGN soil.

So, in conclusion, the title of this topic will directly correspond with every post being about PETA, and yes, one of the things PETA is known for is not eating meat. So, I see nothing wrong here.

Edit: Oh yea, and Rud is right about the pets thing. You have two? beautiful dogs...PETA members would harass you about keeping them as pets. Same as me and my guinea pigs. Same as CV and his cats. Same as my friend Nikki and her adorable rat couple.

Good points Phil. I guess my reaction was more over this feeling I got that well, so what if someone else thinks people shouldn't eat meat? I drink alcohol, and there are plenty of people who feel that is an evil lifestyle, but I don't feel the need to tell them to go F themselves.

I'm all for vegetarians and vegans who enjoy their lifestyle without forcefully preaching it onto those who gladly eat meat. I am NOT okay with PETA's youth outreach program producing comics such as "Your Mommy Kills Animals" with this cover art:
Image
And I'm NOT okay with PETA comparing animals kept as farm animals or pets to Holocaust victims (here, here, and here) or the various races enslaved during less-enlightened times (here and here), as they're wont to do. And I'm NOT okay with PETA encouraging underage drinking with their "Got Beer" campaign just because they want kids to drink less milk. I'm also NOT okay with them running ads of Rudy Giuliani (is that sp right?) saying "Got prostate cancer" to play on speculation dairy products increase risk of prostate cancer.

PETA uses antagonistic, forceful, condescending tactics that they gladly spread far and wide, often disturbing the general public's daily life to shove their campaign down our throats. I'd be perfectly 100% okay with PETA if it stuck to reigning in animal cruelty among corporations and making sure circus and farm animals are well-kept, but they go out of their way to fuck with everyone else. So, in conclusion, PETA can go fuck themselves.

Edit: OK, one last thing - did you know PETA covertly funds the Animal Liberation Front and Earth Liberation front, whether through associate groups or via defense funds for incriminated members? And that both the ALF and ELF are listed as "domestic terrorist organizations"?

Most of them are against the slaughter of animals anyway, even though the slaughter of animals is improved drastically.

And I'm sure most if not all PETA members are vegetarian.
