Lalime is just what you'd want from a backup, what you don't want is how the team plays in front of him.

That isn't a Lalime issue, he robbed Chicago last year when the team didn't show up.

Ahem, I totally agree also, he is just what you should expect from a backup, Biron was a starting goaltending in this league and still is, we won't get another guy with his capabilities for awhile.

Those people are idiots.

As Alex pointed out in a conversation tonight, the only reason Marty powered the Flyers to the ECF in 07/08 was his extreme feeling of fuck the fuck off to Montreal that season.

It seems a few of us will be HAPPY to see Lalime lose game after game this year, and then blame it on the team, because he's cheap.

I'd prefer we tried to find a guy who MIGHT fit in with the team, rather than keep one who clearly doesn't.




"Too much of the attitude "let's allow only 1-2 goals for Lindy Ruff" and not enough of the attitude "let's score 3-4 goals for Ryan Miller."- This mocks being uber-stingy when we could clearly outscore some teams. It was clear that when we opened it up(when behind in the 3rd) we were a capable scoring team, yet we never tried to be a scoring team from the puck drop.

The Sabres wanted to spend as much on their back-up goaltender next season as they did on Lalime last season. After Hedberg chose to go to the Devils and Biron signed with the Rangers, who was left? No one.

They only wanted a goaltender for one season that fit within the budget because Enroth is getting promoted next season. No one else fit but Lalime.

Holy fuck, do you not take situational variables into account?
