According to CapGeek and the Maine Hockey Journal (who has always been the most trusted source for news about the Pirates), Nathan Gerbe's arch-nemesis Tim Conboy has been signed to a two-way contract by Darcy Regier.

You guys may remember Gerbe's and Conboy's antics from the infamous Pirates/River Rats game at HSBC Arena two seasons ago that had Gerbe's head slammed into the ice and Conboy suspended for four games. You may also remember that, reprehensible as Conboy's actions may have been, Gerbe was 100% at fault for the brouhaha. Kicked one River Rat in the shin, suckered another, and instigated a fight with three River Rats players on the bench. The line brawl resulted in Gerbe getting smashed into the ice by Conboy, with both players getting ejected for the game.

Conboy was a Hurricane due to injuries, but I doubt he'll be much of anything for us. Just filling in some Pirate roster spots.

Or he'll be a goon on the 4th line.

it may have, but when someone is a douche to you, IN PERSON, you kinda have a right to dislike someone. its not like i picked up that opinion watching him on tv. he was a douchebag, to me. so, i feel i have that right.

i mean, ive let it go, and i hope he does well in a sabres uniform. but still, once a jerk, always a jerk. and when people sit there and say, oh no, he just has a never say die attitude, its like.. no, thats not his attitude, at all.
