Baskin-Robbins is making a few changes. The ice cream retailer, famous for its 31 flavors, has announced that five of the flavors are going into what it calls "deep freeze." Think of it as the ice cream equivalent of forced retirement.

The five flavors on the cusp of retirement include Campfire S'mores, Apple Pie a La Mode, Caramel Praline Cheesecake, Superfudge Truffle, and, in a sign that no flavor is safe, French Vanilla.

http://buzz.yahoo.com/buzzlog/93851/bas ... ch-vanilla

ok, I'm mostly reasonable, I can see getting rid of some of the weirder flavors like Caramel Praline Cheesecake and replacing them with other weird flavors, but French friggin Vanilla?

French Vanilla is a standard...it's mandatory damnit.

This is insanity!

Meh. Not a fan of Vanilla in general. Fun Fact though when I lived in Minnesota they had ice cream called New York Vanilla. It was essentially French Vanilla but with a New York title. Weird eh?

Maybe they still have vanilla. One of the brands at Tops(I think it's Perry's) has vanilla AND french vanilla.

French vanilla? Oh, that's just wrong. It's much better than regular vanilla, especially in sundaes. It has a smoothness to the flavor that blends with other ingredients better than plain old vanilla does.

Me neither. Add it to the list of restaurants that advertise in Rochester when there aren't any within 200 miles.

I've never been to a Baskin Robbins in my life but that's messed up...French Vanilla is an OG and they're getting rid of it. Blasphemy.

I hope one day to meet an OG named French Vanilla.

Honestly, I can say I've never even seen a Baskin Robbins. TCBY, either.

They get rid of the only thing the French are good for.
