Team B... If you are that bad at selling tickets with post-season success... you don't deserve a team.

I'm going to guess, Phoenix, Islanders, and Atlanta.

I was wrong, IT can't be Atlanta of Phoenix since neither team existed in 89-90.

So one of them could be the Devils, and the other, could be who knows. Neither do I care.

Just because one of the teams was active in 89-90, doesn't mean that all of them were. It just means that the stats extend back that far. Since the basis is a total percentage of seats sold, it doesn't matter how many years each has been in operation.

I will add on that Team A is the only team to relocate, and sell a smaller percentage of seats in its new location than its original location.

Then I stand by the three teams I've said.

It's Carolina, Islanders, Atlanta

The Islanders aren't a draw because their arena is quite literally an inconvenience to go to. It's 2 hours by mass transit from the heart of NYC, it's 40 minutes in a car assuming you dont hit traffic, so atleast an hour an a half because of traffic, and it's about 25-30 miles outside the city. If they were to get a new arena closer to the city, they could probably return to their glory days.

Carolina, well fuck em, it's a southern team. But seriously, well no, seriously, fuck them...

Atlanta, well lets face it...Atlanta is a hip hop town, with a hip hop culture; hockey isn't a big sell there. The Braves and Hawks do fine, but hockey isn't what the majority of people want, hence explaining their low attendance.

the braves had trouble selling 70% of turner field a few years ago in the NLDS.

I abstain from voting because I know which teams those are, and so far no one has been 100% right.

Yeah, but even 50% attendance is profitable; and they survive because their owner needs money like you and I need a hole in the head.

The Thrashers don't do well at all.

Although the more I think about it, one of those teams may not be them, it could possibly be Columbus.

I'll add Team D at Jay's request.

Team D:
Has sold the 3rd smallest percentage of all available seats since 89-90.
Ranks 28th in percentage of seats sold since the lockout.
Ranks 26th in percentage of seats sold since 00-01.
Best Attendance Year? 15th out of 30 teams.
Worst? 30th out of 30 teams.
Postseason success - pretty much nil aside from a few hopeful years. (in the 89-90 to 09-10 seasons).

Attendance is still not a big deal when you think of certain markets, 88% in a non hockey market is good, if you deny that, then fuck off, and you simply only care for hockey to be in the North, where even certain Northern Markets don't even sell 100% or 90% of their tickets a year.

To do what you did and take away names, is not how to determine which team should move. If the team is doing well in the area, especially MONEY wise, they won't move.

Show me the stats on every market about financial woes, if those are the same teams needing league funding then fine, but if they are in the black every year, then please, drop it and find the teams who aren't making money and move them.

Two of the teams are from the north, two are from the south. None are from Florida ;)
