What happens at the trade deadline now? Do they not make a move for an available player that could help them in the playoffs because they'll exceed their mystery cap?

I agree they shouldn't have had to choose the but the fact is we HAD to. And when it comes down to it the right choice was made.

Well I guess management felt it HAD to be done because it got done. Face it people TG is cheap as fuck and told Darcy to pick between the two. He made the right choice.
And, we didn't HAVE TO. We have a self imposed cap. The fact that we HAD TO is BULL SHNIZ.

No, they didn't HAVE to.

Had they kept Kennedy and signed Morrisonn , they would still have $5.4M in cap space going into the season. There was no reason to cut Kennedy except to get under their self imposed cap.

And they raised ticket prices again this summer.

The organization raised prices again and is introducing two new jerseys this year. That they claim they have to adhere to a self-imposed cap when they're going to make money hand over fist this season is ludicrous bullshittery.

Maybe that's what they were planning to do all along. With the Logo/Uniforms, that is. Kind of like "New Coke". Except, thanks to the success of the 06/07 team, the sales were through the roof, despite the large amount of backlash. Thus delaying the release of the "classic" jerseys until the sales of the current went cool...

At this point, I wouldn't put it past them...

What the fuck? The Kennedy arbitration award put us over some bullshit self-imposed budget, so we waive/buy him out, and then go sign ANOTHER fucking defenseman? Fucks sakes Sabres. I fucking hate Sabres management/ownership.

It feels like more Quinn than Goli. Goli just bankrolls the team, while it's Quinn's job to make sure he makes his money back. Goli is also in Florida, while Quinn's office is in the arena. Also, Quinn was already fired once for running this team like shit.
