I never foul, most times I probably don't even come within a yard of fouling. I don't get anywhere near the line with my lead foot.

My lead foot is usually about 3 inches from the foul line.

But if you do the same approach every time, you'll be almost perfectly consistent. I can think of maybe two times in the last two years that I fouled.

Everyone starts somewhere. I didn't pick up bowling until tenth grade. I got cut from the school team twice before I made it my senior year. My averages went like this...


2001 - 110
2002 - 135
2003 - 155
2004 - 178 (Varsity) [191 as a starter]
2005 - 186
2006 - 204
2007 - temporary retirement
2008 - 187
2009 - 178 after three weeks.

But in reality, I usually average like 130 in my first game...then its ALL down hill from there.
