max scored fine last season. he can play at the NHL level, hes just a pure offensive player.

Don't disagree.

My point was that there were folks that told us again and again how Lindy was the reason Max wasn't successful, and that once he got out of Buffalo he's have a stellar NHL career.

That after Buffalo career lasted all of 82 games, and now nobody in the NHL wants him.

Clearly that's Lindy's fault too.

I always liked Max. He played with a lot of passion, (against the lazy European sterotype) I loved when he would score goals because you could tell it was so important to him.

What shall I do now with my Blue Max Slug jersey?

I'll buy it from you if you really want to get rid of it - I loved Max. He was the first Sabre I really knew by name.

And FWIW; Max was against the lazy European stereotype because he's Russian, not (in our terms) a Euro

I should mention that his agent said Afinogenov turned down offers from three or four NHL clubs in favor of SKA because he wanted a longer term and the NHL clubs only wanted to give him one to two years.

Ok, there it is. I couldn't accept the fact that no team was willing to offer a contract to Max, after he put up 20+ Goals and 60+ Points...

The money offered was higher to stay in the NHL, but the terms were too short for his liking. So he took less money with more job security to play for SKA.
