Yeah (and shut up NY you f'n nerd lol) but it's not an official Apple rollback, it's some fucking gizz mongrel in a basement licking his mommas douche between lines of programming. It would probably make it worse.

Sure it is. You still have the old versions on your machine officially from Apple. You can put the iPod or iPhone into recovery mode, and manually select the official Apple firmware right from your machine.

Huh? I talked to Apple and they told me they don't support that. I've seen hacked procedures from a 3rd party that supposedly work. But the only fix Apple proposed was restting it to factory default. Which of course adheres the latest OS.

Apple doesn't support you doing it, sure, because they WANT you on that latest OS.

You can still do it, and get support for your device because you're still running official Apple software.

I dunno, I read about people getting stuck in a recovery mode loop and all kinds of stupid stuff. I think it's easier to just file a lawsuit against Steve Jackson. He shouldn't be allowed to offer "updates" that literally tell you it will improve the product without showing any kind of warning message at all. And when of course it makes it run like shit, they suggest you buy another new phone. And THEN, they tell you to go eat cat poop when you say you want it rolled back.

That's unlawful.

You mean Steve JOBS? :p

The process is simple. I've done it on my phones and ipods over the years. Back in the day, that was the only way to jailbreak; had to create and load your own IPSW.

I agree they shouldn't have pushed this out to devices that it would run like shit on, but there's options to fix it.

I wouldn't feel bad. He's already made more money that you and I combined ever will, and I'm sure he has a nice golden parachute in that severance.

To downgrade takes a lot of effort and you would need to know how to jailbreak the phones and iPod`s. I tried it once and it took me like 3 and a half hours to do it.

I still haven't done it, I'm really pissed at how slow it's running. Every little thing is a frickin major ordeal now. But I just know it's going to piss me off even more if I roll it back with some 3rd party hacker crap.

Well, you roll it back or you keep bitching about how shitty it runs now. Your choice.

Downgrading does not require jailbreaking. Downgrading is simply putting the phone in recovery mode, and selecting an older IPSW file for the iOS version you want.

Or, you can wait for Apple to get done with the next iOS update, which appears close. That's supposed to resolve the issues you guys are having.

Really? I've been chasing that double rainbow for 3 updates now. IS there a link?

Meh, that doesn't help me specifically, but that certainly is newsworthy! I think I'll go with whichever price plan is the cheapest, I've received great service from Atnt over the past 3+ years.

I'm about 70% sure this has probably been posted earlier in this thread. If it has, shoot me. If not, this is EXACTLY what it is like working at a retail store. This is really not a stretch. (save the swearing)
