Just heard about this. And so, history's first professional hockey player retires.

He could be retired for ten years, but the old man jokes will never get old.

Yeah. I just can't help myself. Also, I guess he may be taking some management position with The Red Wings (via the story I posted).

This was the wrong way to do this thread. I wanted to, but the linky wasn't up yet.

Correct title:

Old Man in Detroit Hanging up the Skates

then in the thread:

and it's not Jimmy Howard!

Thank you, thank you, I'll be here all night.

I'm still pissed Chelios got nominated for the Masterson over Teppo in 2009. What a fucking travesty.

I remember way back in the day someone did an interview with Chelly while he was playing with the Canadiens. He said he would never play for the Red Wings and that he hated the organization a lot or something along those lines. However many years later he suited up for them and now he's gonna be working in their front office. Way to stay true to ur word Chelly.

I love that he dedicated his rendition of the Star-Spangled Banner to Probert

It's too bad that the very first person to ever play hockey is finally retiring.

I bet he had fun playing with Maurice Richard, Gordie Howe, and George Vezina in his earlier days.

Wow, you just completely ripped off OP's joke. That's talent.

What trips me out about Chelios is he played his first professional hockey game two years before I WAS BORN.

Cheli must have some hearty fucking parents. It's one thing to say you played when you're 40(+), but it's another to say you logged minutes the WHOLE time.

I didn't even read the first post again, and who cares, every joke is a rip off basically. Why point it out? Just to be an ass?

It was his workout regimen. Him and Gary Roberts were two of the toughest motherfuckers in the game because they destroy themselves to keep in top shape throughout the year.

A big reason that Leopold and Morrisonn are upgrades over Tallinder and Lydman is that both new guys play the puck MUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCH smarter. Leopold's giveaway/takeaway differential was 1/3 better than Tallinders last season, and Morrisonn's was 1/2 better than Lydman's.

What hockey maven told you that? :P

An article about it, you did nothing but maybe show the article on it.

Because you did such a nice job of positioning yourself in a glass house, calling someone else out for ripping something off. (And you weren't even correct when you did it).
