Not to talk shit about him, but that was his MO basically. He complained about political or religious discussions, yet he liked to start a controversial topic where he knew people would get heated, and just sit back and watch the fireworks, adding fuel as needed.

After the disagreements the night of the gold medal game, he decided to start his own private, invite only forum. He hasn't been here in a while, logged in at least.

He's not hated. I've never met him but some here have and say he's a good guy (same thing has been said about Ferret).

I think a lot of people may be lumping Ferret and ETC together because of their outspoken conservative political views but for some reason are leaving my name out of that group

Doesn't really prove anything... I'm sure they know in this day and age with Twitter, Facebook, and blogs that there are plenty of "mouse potatoes" talking shit, but it doesn't mean that they read it. Not saying they're immune to never stumbling across something, but I highly doubt they take time out of their day to read fan forums and stuff.

I certainly don't hate the guy. Phil and those guys met him last year when he was up, said he was a blast to hang out with. I missed that night, and was looking forward to doing a car bomb with him next time he was here. Just didn't happen.

ETC never seemed to like me, and id argue with him. but then he would say something and id be all.. DAMMIT... i cant hate you now! i miss alot of those guys. howie especially. he was a great dude. and i miss him.

Thing is though the old boards are easier to find, and thus easier to gain members on. I'm sure it can be daunting coming in here as a newbie when so many people are already so close.

I don't post as much on here as i did the old boards ( I had 2000 posts on there ), but i find these boards having the right mix of people, and i couldn't care less if any other new people came over. It's nice, but not an important need for me.

It's nice to have a place where we can all go, tell Mike to stop bitching about Ohio, look at Alex's spreadsheets, and generally talk shit to each other , in a positive way.

It's also nice to have our official team site not suck ass, and get some insight and perspective from others. There's a place for both boards I think. We'll see how it goes. That system looks nice now, but it could collapse under load, or they might change something to make it suck.

We shall just have to see.

Based on the naming of the test site (no, I'm not giving it out, we were asked not to), it most likely will remain fans.sabres.nhl.com.
