I've noticed that when players are having a bad streak, the fans always want them out of the town. But look at Tallinder and Hecht, 2 years ago I remember that they were quite awful and everyone was screaming that they needed to be traded, now look at this year Tallinder had a good season coaching Myers to the Calder and Hecht rebounded proving [most of] his salary. Now with MacArthur/Paille (yes I realize they're gone) and Stafford, you knew that they were always underachieving and needed a change of scenery.

Ok, wrong use of words there. He certainly mentored Myers during the year.

I'd have to say Myers helped Tallinder as much as Tallinder helped Myers.

I definitely agree with that.
Hecht had a great rebound year. I've got high expectations for him this year, as long as he doesn't be forced to attempt to play Center again.

Yea Hecht is a terrible center i think he'll keep it up as long as he doesnt have to go back to those dark times. As for Tallinder and Lydman, theyre just plain bad.

Oh you mean Lydman who is a career + player in both the regular season and playoffs? He is a good defenseman who gets the job done without being fancy (although those two no-look snappers he had last season were GLORIOUS).

Sure he's a plus player, but maybe i just got tired fail at outlet passes all game long.

in fairness, if brodeur didnt play his retarded style, he wouldnt have committed and possibly stayed with the puck.

He's a defenseman. His job? Keep the puck out of the net. He has a career + rating. He's been on the ice for more goals for than goals against (at even strength) his entire career. Penalty killing? He's a rock. If you got tired watching him make bad first passes, you're not watching all of his game.

I don't like this argument at all. Must a defensemen possess hockey skills? Yes. Is it better if he possesses GOOD hockey skills? Yes. This crap about stay-at-home guys "doing their job" is crap to me, and this guys argument is legit. By no means am I intending to harm Toni or any stay-at-home defensemen. They certainly have their place in this league, but when they are paired with a guy that FORCES them beyond their means, they begin to suck real bad. Like any hockey line, the MOST important thing is chemistry with your line mates. You guys are actually VALIDATING ferrets 6 Coffeys vs 6 Stevens theory.

To save me from posting on another thread, this is also why I think the team will miss Tallinder a lot. At least at first.
