They better make the stick a damn object. When you dive in front of someone and your stick touches the puck, it shouldn't go through the puck like WATER!

Fucking Crosby. OT sucks.

Mike Lange. He belongs on TV, but the penguins wont nut up to FSN to make it happen. So he should go to a city that would appreciate him.

Yeah, but he's probably too much of a Pens fan to show the same emotion he does on the Penguins' radio broadcasts. The same reason RJ wouldn't be as good calling a national game on VS. or NBC.

You know, one of his most endearing qualities as an announcer (not a person, I'm pretty sure he is a egomaniacal drunk) is that he ALWAYS gives the other team at least equal praise through out a game. It drives Pens fans crazy but those few around here that know a little bit about the game beyond the circumference of Crosby's nad satchel, appreciate him for that.

Look. There is just no way that we can have RJ retire. All right? Whatever it takes. How about we research immortality, or some sort of cyborg technology to keep RJ calling Sabres games into the next millenia? How about it, science?

It's not only a financial issue, but a physical disk space issue. High quality audio that doesn't become too repetitive consumes a healthy amount of disk space.

A Dual Layer Blu-Ray disc can hold upwards of 50Gbs of space.

But that would be PS3 only. Wouldn't bode well for 360 users.

But yes, as we said...the people that buy nhl ea games are going to buy it every year, no matter what.

Luckily, they upgrade pretty well, and seem to try harder each year, unlike it's madden counterpart.

To hell with the 360, they should put a blu-ray player in it too then to keep up :P

Madden actually gets improved just as much as NHL series. I haven't bought it since 09, but it really does get improved upon alot, they fixed all lighting issues previous games had, and the gameplay was never too out of the ordinary.

I think so.

So, here's how it is - RJ retires, Harry Neale maybe retires, Sabres hire Mike Rowe and Morgan Freeman, Little Jeanneret goes and does his schtick elsewhere.

I think that the sabres should bring in an old vet on the back end of his career so that Little J has a chance to properly develop in the minors... :)

I would also like to see Mike Robitaille take over the color position from Harry Neale (I'd love to hear more of his half-drunken rants during the game). I'd like Sylvester to stay on as the intermission report guy and his sidekick could be either Danny Gare or Rob Ray. The odd man out (Ray or Gare) would be the dude between the benches.

Thoughts?

No! No! No!

Putting Robie in the color position would be a waste. He is excellent at no-holds-barred analysis during those intermissions. He tells it like it is, good or bad. That doesn't work as well in the color position. A good color guy fills in the RJ gaps with interesting info or stats. Robey is not that guy. If Neale retires (or simply forgets how to get to the arena), stick Gare in their. I couldn't stand him taking Robey's spot at intermission. He's too nice for that role! He'd be much better suited for the color position.

And leave "Sylvester the Kevin" right where he is.
And leave Ray between the benches.

Replace RJ? Well, I don't think he'll retire until the Sabres win the cup.

How old is he again?

Do we have the technology? Can we rebuild him??

Phil I think Mike Rowe would be the perfect announcer.
