Made a simple mockup of the Saturn V...I know a guy who designs and sells basic mockups of real rockets. Nothing fancy, about a foot tall and paper covering.

Generally, I'm more concerned with making rockets that fly, not working on the details to make them look nice. I've never really been good with that part. Sometimes I don't even paint them...just keep the body tube unfinished. Although that's kind of boring.

Me and my friend used to make them out of random shit we found around the house. We took a model plane we'd made once for science olympiad (except it was more sturdy) and launched it semi-horizontally. It flew for about 60 feet until the fin ripped off, then it hit the ground and caught fire. And then we were kicked out of the park.

Oh goodness, Science Olympiad planes. They consumed about three years of my life.

Must have been a lot sturdier though...all of my planes would have ripped apart in any sort of outdoor air movement...heck, I used to be scared of going through doors that had drafts.

I'd really like to get back into indoor free flight, but don't have the time. Maybe someday I will.
