Passed my Police Officer Selection Test (POST) today!!!! I'm 19 so i applied for the Myrtle Beach Police Cadets and i passed my tests today! I have an interview at 1 with the board of directors! Wish me luck!!

I know lol. Up here they are so strict and professional, the complete opposite of the local PD and Sheriffs. I've been pulled over by all three before, and the Troopers were by far the one's you would not want to mess with.

I've heard Virginia's State Police can be real tough too.

SC State troopers are pretty tough as well. I personally like the professional way they carry themselves because it is an important job. You can find the SC State Troopers walking through the stores off duty with their weapon sitting right on their hip.

Congrats on passing, great career field. My dad and brother were both police officers. My dad is actually retired, my brother got out of the field to work for the government doing some other bullshit job, but they both loved it.

When do you start the academy?

Thank you sir. Since i'm not 21 i can't hit the academy. The great thing about this Cadet program is it's basically auxillary police. I direct traffic, man the desk at the annex, assist officers with accidents, write reports, pick up items belonging to victims or suspects if they are apprehended or injured.

Ahh ok, I understand.

Things are done a little different in NY State, but we do have similar programs around and about. It's still a great foot in the door, and looks fantastic on a resume. Best of luck with that.
