Nobody was forced to leave. Those that left did so because they chose to do so.

Aside from the one or two folks that asked for their accounts to be deleted, all their accounts are still active. If they want to come back, they can come back at any time.

What happened is in the past. For the most part, people are over it.

I know I'm really late to this thread (or any other Sabres fan site for that matter) and I'm stopping at the second page of this thread. XC hit the nail on the head. None of "any of this" would exist if the NHL hadn't fucked up the boards in the first place. It's taken them a year to figure that out? I too, got the e-mail from the Webmaster (yes, I am still a Mod there) and I'm saddened by its deterioration and take over by hooligans and former trolls.

Xc is so right - we made a great team back then because We Moderated. No matter what the differences since, the old forums suck now because NO ONE Mods, We had no tools to do so.

Just My two cents.

They do come back to post about once a month, and probably lurk more than most of us think. I honestly don't know why they come back since their mission statement or whatever states that their departure was because of the maturity of junkie as a whole and the character of some of its members. Their board is invite-only, and as such, they can bring on anyone that they desire. So why post here?

Every they come back to post, the cycle is the same. A few people are all like "yay, come back!" most are indifferent, and the mods here reiterate that no one really cares anymore about whatever happened in February, and that they're more than welcome. Then they disappear for another month.

I don't understand straddling the fence, I mean, if you want to leave, then super. If you want to come back, equally super. There is no shortage of members here that enjoyed, and would enjoy what those posters have to offer were they to return, myself included. But I guess that's the whole point of posting every once in a while. Make sure that people are still clamoring for your return, then stick up your nose and continue to reassure yourself that you can't because you're taking the high road after what was really, a rather mundane disagreement.

Dont forget the demographic which is utterly pleased by their departure.

Some(not all) of the departed were truly class acts, and they will always be missed.

There are several people who are posting on more than one fan site; hope this doesn't shock anyone. It is the dog days of summer, and all of the boards are a little slow, when compared to their traffic the rest of the year. I have looked on at least three of four sites to try and find out what the new uniforms will officially look like. I thought this site, or the old boards (heard about the repairs going on there while searching), would have had someone find something official. God knows we found the god awful slug pics - though many assumed it may have been a joke. And in a way it was for the past few seasons with them; thank god it's over.

Anyhow, I'm sure someone will find something before the official unveiling....
