The first one and the Third one, If that was Ovechkin, He'd get suspended.

No matter what Crosby does in his career, he's going to be looked down upon.

- Before he gets drafted, we have to hear about how great he's going to be for an entire lost season.
- As a rookie, he whines and bitches constantly.
- He gets to live with Lemieux, one of the greatest ever to play the game. Other rookies are living in a suitcase out of a Motel Six.
- At 18, they undeservedly throw a letter on his chest.
- At 19, they make him captain.
- Every national TV broadcast, even those that have nothing to do with the Penguins, has at least one reference to Crosby somewhere.
- No other athlete gets marketed by the NHL. It's all Crosby, all the time.
- Crosby gets away with more crap on the ice than anyone else. At least when Ovie does something dirty, he gets suspended for it.

I made my claims about who is better.

I would rather have an Ovechkin style player on my team then a Crosby style player.

That pretty much sums it up right there. If the NHL didn't ram him down our throats every 5 seconds, he wouldn't take as much crap as he does now. If he didn't whine and dive as a rookie and a bit in his second year, he would be respected to way more people. Last, if he didn't do anything dirty and actually got penalties and suspensions for bad things, he would be awesome.

(Why I love Pavel Datsyuk)

One more.

If Don Cherry didn't jerk it to his face every show, Crosby would be looked upon as normal.

I don't think I've ever heard Don Cherry talk about Crosby.

I take that back. I remember hearing him talk about how well he's been defended against and taken out of series a couple times in the playoffs.

I'm not arguing that. I'm arguing against your point that he dick rides Crosby.

First of all, they're different style players at different positions, so any true comparison is sketchy at best. But to say that one is greatly better than the other is pure bias. You may like one way more (and even that's debatable since they both have cheap elements to their games), but there is not a chance in hell one is way better.

Regular season

Crosby
Better Passer
Better Goal Scorer (based on shooting pct.)
Better Shot Blocker

Ovechkin
Better puck handler (based on giveaway to takeaway ratio)
Better career winning pct.
Better +/-
Better Hitter

Playoffs

Crosby
Better Passer
Better Goal Scorer (shooting pct.)
Better +/-
Better Winning Pct.
Better shot blocker
More Responsible with the puck (giveaway to takeaway ratio)

Ovechkin
Better hitter

I would say Ovechkin is a better scorer.

CV said goalscorer by shooting percentage. Ovechkin scores more goals, but he takes about twice as many shots as Crosby.

EDIT: I am exaggerating when I say twice as many. He takes a lot more shots, but I have no idea what the exact numbers are.

I dont agree with the comment about how Crosby is a better goal scorer than Ovechkin because in my opinion he is not, he may have a more accurate shot but that really doesn't matter if your able to get more pucks in the net by taking any shot possible. The way Crosby presents himself as a scorer is trying to be more precise with his actions and more accurate, he would take his time more and concentrate to make the scoring chance has the best opportunity to make it in the net. While Ovechkin can be said to be similar, he tries to lay it on the goalie as much as possible, Ovechkins natural amazing accuracy and bullet shot make any shot he takes a lethal one so knowing this, Ovie is going to fire as many as it takes to get a goal and it creates a larger sum than what Crosby's system comes up with.

My only issue on the better goal scorer is the fact that it makes you believe that he scores prettier goals in more diverse situations which (imo) is false. OV makes highlight reel shots that I just have never seen Crosby do because a lot of his goals I see him camped next to the net.

Well, congratz to Ryan! Now if only they'd get some scoring to back up his awesomeness...

The thing I really don't like about Crosby is the fact that he's managed to score huge goals against Miller (Winter Classic, the Olympics...)

And he's a crying bitch...but that's already been discussed at length above.

#1? Crosby
#2? Ovechkin
#3? Miller

Fuck off, he's NUMBER ONE! If I could build my own team and pick any player in the league I would choose Ryan Miller as THE number one pick in the fucking world. Ovechkin and Crosby can go milk Bettman's prostate with their teeth.
