audsabres kinda left, as did his other half. icehound left, but he kinda stopped posting anyways. rob left, who is someone i dearly miss.

i think people are still bothered by it, apparently. one day, we have a fight, and the next, they are never to be heard from again in some cases. no chance for reconciliation, no anything. they just left. people are bothered by it.

i agree, let it go, but no matter how often its brought up, and how often its "forgotten" it just keeps coming full circle. maybe its time to stop ignoring it, let everyone say their peace, because its just going to keep coming up.

I wish we all could get along too. I wish they'd come back and start posting regularly on here. Looking back at the reasons why the departure started, it's silly that we haven't all "kissed and made up" by now. For now the only times they've came back it's hasn't been just to say hi, it's been to defend something or another. If they really wanted to come back and fix anything, they would start participating in threads again.

Folks on SD, if you really care to mend anything, then come back and start participating in threads. There's no need to defend anything, just move forward. It's OK to feel awkward at first, but as you start participating in threads, and getting into the discussions we all can relate to then things can slowly get back to pre-olympic times.

Just a few words to offer...

I have never had an issue with members of Drunkie also posting on Junkie if they wish, but I completely agree that our members should not venture in here just to stir shit up. I thought I made that point perfectly clear to everyone at the Drunkie site, but I guess I should have been even more clear than I was. I respect that it's your home here, and if you want to call me every name in the book at your house that's your business and I have no problem with it. Obviously, by closing Drunkie we have made it clear that we value our privacy and don't want our dirty laundry aired for the world to see, so I certainly can appreciate Cross's frustration with this bullshit drama because it certainly makes us look hypocritcal.

I would hope both sides can agree at some point to respect our two very different ideas about what we want in a message board rather than make this a personal battle. Yes, most folks like to post at big sites that are wide open to the public, but others prefer to be able to comment in intimate privacy to a secure, trusted group of friends. Different strokes, and the world is certainly big enough for both approaches to co-exist without animosity.

Anyway, sorry again for any unnecessary agitation. I realize not everyone will like everyone, and there will probably always be some old wounds that don't heal, but it's been long enough already. Fuck it, let's get on with our lives.

The ignore feature seems to be lost in translation. People get too fed up with this or that going on by certain people and instead of finding the ignore feature, it's escalated from annoyance, to bitterness, to hatred. The main premise for both boards is the same, the Buffalo Sabres. One is open to the public, the other is closed. Personally (completely my own opinion and does not reflect anyone or anything by my OWN opinion), I think the creation of the drunkie is _mostly_ pointless, not meant to offend anyone over there. They wanted a less antagonistic discussion. and that can be accomplished on here by ignoring the stupid posters (using board ignore features). I'm not referring to anybody in specific when referencing stupid posters.

Being a mod is one hell of a task, because we have to realize that everyone has their own viewpoint, their own tolerance to stupidity, and some will get irked much easier than others. We can appease one side in a dispute, and completely tick off the other so easily if one feels they didn't get their way. In most cases, there are ways to appease both sides, and as a moderator you have to have a great sense in doing that.

This is why I feel the drunkies should come back. There's no point to have two boards that accomplish the same thing. This board was created for better moderation tools, and was left the same state as over at the old boards, with better moderation tools to avoid what's happened here in the first place.

I don't care that some left here or not, I wish they would come back again because I've talked with Schony on Facebook from time to time and miss her still.

But a problem with them I don't have, even if some were asses here just because it's how they view stuff, kinda like ETC, his viewpoints were his own but he sometimes stirred the pot because of how he is or was here. Do I care, nope, would love them to come back.

I would love the Official boards to become our home again, not to say this site is garbage or anything, but the official boards is what we all wanted back, but they screwed us over, and now they are finally trying to fix that issue to bring us all back, and I think once those are finally done, we can all go back to being happy over there instead of on these two boards.
