Given the Rookie class, given who they may be playing with and looking at who Ennis may be playing with, the Calder may be a reality if the circumstances are correct. No?

Taylor Hall and Tyler Seguin may have something to say about that.

Tavares was suppose to win the Calder last year also, Stamkos was suppose to win it the year before him.

Neither one of those two players won it, yet they were suppose to be the clear cut winners of that trophy at the beginning of the season also.

Wasn't Crosby suppose to win it in 05-06 also?

If Ennis plays with one of the top two lines in Buffalo, Hall is a distant 4th to 6th as far as rookies go in my opinion. He's nothing to write home about. And the only thing Seguin has going for him is Boston's line up, but he won't play in the top 6 as a center, so I already know he isn't coming close.

Slesh Seguin and the Bruins have already said he can play left wing, so he'll still end up in their top six.

Ennis is going to be a much better player than even people here are giving him credit for.

I don't think the Calder will be a stretch at all. He'll definitely be one of the front runners.

Seguin may end up going back to juniors because of Boston's money situation.

Not true at all. Regardless if he plays for Boston on the wing, that is not his position, there will be a learning curve.
He is a CENTER, and as such, Boston isn't about ready to take this kids talents and try to force him to another position. That makes no sense what so ever.

Seguin will have nothing, zero, notta to say about the Calder this season in my opinion.

Slesh, Ennis was a C in junior. In Portland and with the Sabres, he played LW and he DOMINATED. Great players experience no learning curve.

While I don't think Seguin or Hall will win the Calder, they're certainly going to contend for it all season.

But, I think Ennis is the front-runner. With a full season under his belt, he's gonna dazzle.

I don't really see how playing Center and switching to wing would be any learning curve at all. Instead of helping the defensmen and controlling the center part of the ice they normally sit where they need and control their side of the ice, they normally wait for the pass instead of really going for it.

Had they played wing and switched to Center, I would be more worried as Center is the harder posistion to play, and play well.

He's good, but it really depends on this year's rookie class. I think he'd be an outside shot at best.

(BTW, glad to see you back Slesh. :) )

Thanks Squanto, glad to be back. :D Didn't post to much anywhere, but read the posts here daily. :shhh: I always do.
Sitting behind a desk sucks. Much to tell you on my endevours, specifically N.F., have Senator Maziarz involved. Fingers crossed, hoping to create some jobs.

With that said and once again, thanks for welcome back, I am heading out to Oklahoma (hopefully, fingers crossed) and California as well. So if the IP changes, rest assured, it is me.

I was looking at the rookie class and the players they will be with. Seguin truly is my only worry, but Ennis has a real chance at this, and it would be a marketing boone for Buffalo if we can get 2 Calder's back to back. I am hoping and only expressing my feelings based on what I'm looking at with regards to the talents individual rookies may be playing with.

Heres to an Ennis-Roy-Vanek line, may they live long and prosper.
