It's scary to think that there's not much left to accomplish for Sidney Crosby, as he's already won a Stanley Cup and Olympic Gold Medal, and he broke out as a goal-scorer in his fifth NHL season, scoring a career-high 51 goals, while taking a career-high 298 shots.

On another note, Myers was ranked number 48 in the same list.

I don't like Crosby. I really don't.

But I don't think there's any denying the fact that he's the best player in the NHL.

I'll deny it seeing as I think Ovechkin is by far the best player in the league, Crosby Second best to me.

Miller deserves the third spot and Malkin should be fourth, excluding his bad season last year as everyone has some sort of bad season, he dominates games when he plays up to it, I'm sure we'd see Malkin reach 110+ points a year on a different team then the Penguins too.

I wish he had his own team to lead, there was a reason he won the Conn Smythe award.

i think most people hate crosby because hes not wearing their teams jersey. file it under jealousy. the same reason why alot of red wing fans hate miller, and blackhawk fans hate lidstrom.

I hate him because of his attitude and overexposure. Maybe if he had been with Buffalo I'd like him, but I don't and simply don't care if I like him.

I like Ovechkin because of the game he plays, I even like Malkin because he is just the silent Russian killer.

I like most players in the league, but when you are a hockey fan and have to listen to the amount of Crosby dick sucking by the league, it really does get annoying.

Our father
Who art on ice,
Hallowed be in goal,
The saves be great,
The game be won,
At home as you do away,
Give us our wins our daily games,
And lead us to thy Lord's Stanley Cup,
As we praise you who leads us to glory,
To lead forever, the holy one,
To deliver us a cup.
For thine is the greatest,
For your power, and your glory,
For ever and ever,
AMEN

Terrible, I know.

id rather listen to versus "suck crosbys dick" then espn go on and on about lebron james. the fact of the matter is, he doesnt have a bad attitude, he did when he was 18 and a rookie. but what 18 year old kid given all that hype wouldnt have a bad attitude?

he also was a rookie right after a lockout very nearly wiped out the league. he came in and gave the league needed exposure to not only survive the lockout, but have the league thrive.

if you want to hate on crosby, thats fine. hes not a player i like, but id rather have a league with him and the media "sucking his cock" then the league without it.

what if instead of "sucking his cock", the media "milked his prostate with their teeth"?

I find Crosby a lot more likable than Malkin and Ovechkin personally. Not a fan of their cheap brand of hockey, especially Malkin's.

While I do hate how much we're force-fed Crosby, I agree with Mike - I'd rather deal with VS sucking Crosby off than ESPN fellating LeBron James.

I could care less about ESPN's pimping of James. (Or was it James' pimping of ESPN?)

I care about being force fed Crosby sandwiches because it's during a sport I actually WANT to watch.

it is what it is. hes the centrepiece of the leagues marketing campaign, its no shock that you hear about him excessively. and when you back up the hype with what hes done so far in his young career, well, thats just gonna happen.

When I watch nationally televised NFL games, I hear about different stars all the time. Same for NBA and MLB games. Those leagues market ALL their stars, not just one. You can have a centerpiece, yet still spread your efforts around.

The NHL is putting all their eggs in one basket. If Crosby makes ONE mistake, no matter how minor, it becomes magnified 1000% because they've made sure that nobody pays any attention to anyone else in the league but him.

If I was a star in that league, I'd be pissed that the NHL was Crosby's personal marketing and endorsement agent.

the NHLs whole marketing campaign is focused on many many players. i always see other players on commercials and such. heck, the past 2 years, i think ive seen ovechkin more then crosby. look at mike green with geico.

the NFL and MLB have so much parity, its hard to single out on star. i see peyton manning hawking sony alot. as for MLB, i never see MLB players advertise something outside derek jeter a few years ago, and joe madden for mens one a day pills.

and the NBA.. i mean, this summer is the summer of lebron, but even lebron is no match for kobe bryant. the NBA is ALL about kobe bryant.

could the NHLs marketing team do better? yeah. but overall, i dont find it that obnoxious anymore.

I was in Canada for the last 4 days, 300 miles north of Buffalo. I've been up that way quite a few times over the last couple of years.

I've never seen an ad for any player other than Crosby except for around Mississauga and Toronto in Leafs country.

What about LeCavalier? Getzlaf? Towes? Carter? Heatley? You see stuff up there for the Olympic team, and it's all Crosby. Nothing with the other players.

He's overexposed in his own damn country.

Yes, but those aren't NHL commercials. Those aren't marketing the NHL, in a way it is, but those aren't exclusive NHL commercials. Those commercials are to market their company or product.

I'm sure Gieco has to pay the NHL something or maybe not to the league to use their players, but Gieco is a part of the ads on the sidewalls of many arenas anyways.

I agree, we aren't force fed Crosby as much, take all the commercials about old NHL stars like the What if someone could do something commercials. Those are the ones I like to see. What if Gretzky didn't have eyes in the back of his head type ones where all the stars of past and present are marketed to market the league. They are doing a much better job at it.

he scored the overtime winner that won the whole thing. not many people remember anything outside that. i sure dont.

irregardless (:p) hes marketable, and naturally you are going to see him alot. but i see patrick kane alot here. but i assume thats cause he played junior here from 13-18. we also used to have a HUGE nike yzerman mural, but thats expected.

at peranis, which is the largest hockey retailer in the USA, i believe, i see alot of crosby ads and alot of stamkos. along with alot of other NHL stars.

i dunno. maybe its different, but i dont really see crosby ads that much, not much more then anyone else.
