As much as I want Glenn Beck to have a porcupine quill inserted into his urethra, this isn't the day he's gonna be at his douchiest.

So you'll just go along with the groupthink that Beck is a monster?
If most people consider that "hate speech", then most people don't know what hate speech is or have such thin skin they should stay the hell away from politics in the first place.

Period.

Should I bust out the videos about assassinating Bush?
Naa...too easy.

Jeezus Cross. Should I just give you my adress so you can come kick me in the balls? I mean really? Get a hobby.

Hate comes in more forms than blatant racism and gay bashing. Scaring people by telling them daily that Obama and the "progressives" are just like Hitler and the Nazis and so on and so on.......is spreading hate and fear in my book. Is it the same type of hate that the KKK spouts? Nope. Is it hurtful none the less? Yup. Bottom line is this guy is a nut job. You know it and I know it. You wanna disagree with me because it make ya tingly then so be it. Have fun.

all I asked you to do was back up your claims.
I made no remarks towards you personally.

No, I like engaging in debate.
I'm not a fan of Beck, I'm just arguing against a stereotype you're putting forth.
You take things too personally.

Dude this is no stereotype. He's a dirt bag who cashes in by spreading fear and hate. Everyone knows it. He's crazy plain and simple. Maybe if he cries some more and tell me how scared he is for this beautiful country then I'll buy that he's not scum.

The guy doesn't spew hate. It isn't hate. It's him being insane.

Here's a bit. He's making a living by scaring people. He pads his pockets by telling the morons on the right that Obama is a communist and that our country is headed for the end days. If that's not bad to you then hey, so be it. Do I think he's public enemy number one? Of course not. He's just a nutty piece of shit full of bile.

 From all I have heard he is legit craaaaaazy, but after reading the Yahoo link he seemed to tone it down a lot for the rally. I'm guessing it is because this is how he wants to be remembered.

I don't know anything about this man except for the clips that make him look crazy, but nothing screamed insane in the write up.

It's really how you view the word "Hate". I leave hate for the really screwed up things, such as racism and such. He doesn't say that. If some people are stupid enough to listen to what he says, it's their fault for being so gullible.

Beck's so far out in left field. But so is much of Fox news reporting. The guy is scare tactics. I plan on going into DC this afternoon, all depending on if I can get there to begin with ;)

Talk to some of these Beck zombies man. Just go out and chit chat a bit. These people actually HATE liberals, progressives and democrats. I mean fucking hate. They don't think they are misguided or out of touch. They hate them. Beck feeds this by telling them literally that Obama and his minions are trying to indoctrinate our kids into communist ideals, are destroying the American values and so on. He works to convince people that we're headed down the road to appocolypse and it's obviously the Dems fault. This rally about "Restoring Honor" is a continuation of this blame game he plays, further dividing people. This in my opinion is obviously hate and it is very dangerous.

Edit: The rally isn't blantantly hateful. It is some kind of scheme by beck though.

An entertainer is popular because he says things you don't agree with.
OK.
That doesn't make it hate speech.
That doesn't make him dangerous.

You dismiss people that agree with him as morons.
OK.
That doesn't make it so.

I happen to believe our country is headed for a long decline and our President and congress is accelerating that fact.
But I don't agree with Beck on most things because he's pushing some sort of modern quasi-political / spiritual revival...which is odd, but not dangerous IMO.

People absolutely contort themselves into balls of rage and vitriol whenever Glenn Beck or Sarah Palin are mentioned and I find it hilarious every time.

Why don't you read Alveda King's article on why she's participating in the rally

http://www.csmonitor.com/Commentary/Opi ... r-of-honor

nothing about politics at all..or race...or anything divisive really.

He preaches that there is a democratic nazi conspiracy going on and Obama is its head. Seriously, watch him a bit more if ya can stomach it. He does not say he's an entertainer. He plays the role of journalist, commentator and moral voice of America. He claims to be the only one telling you "the truth". If he said that he's a comedian or an entertainer and it's an act then cool, play ball. But he doesn't. He tells everyone he's watching out for hem and telling them the truth then goes on to say the craziest bat shit stuff ever.

He spews a lot of conspiracy theories, but he usually doesn't go after Democrats, he goes after those he labels "progressives" who are people that usually self-identify as such.
I don't have a problem with that...it's called politics. He's the far right taking shots at the far left. What's the problem? Most Americans don't belong to either of those groups.

I have watched him (well listened to him on XM) occasionally, and I usually switch it off because he's wrong, not because he's dangerous or inciting violence (as is suggested).

In an interview with CBS she essentially said that appearing at Beck's rally is her way of finding common ground with the right. She thinks of it as a way to move forward together instead of remaining divided. I commend her and wish her the best. She is an amazing woman with sincere values and opinions. Also at no point did I speak of anyone outside of Palin and Beck or about the rally being about race or politics. I do have suspicions however that this rally is a wolf in sheep's clothing, especially since the The Tea Party thinks of this rally as theirs.

Again, if you don't see anything wrong with Beck spewing forth that Obama and his group of progressives are Nazi dictators in disguise that are leading our country to a bleak socialist, commie distopia....okay. Have your opinion and go about your way. Asking me over and over again why I think it's bad is gettting old. I already said why.

Again with the Nazi reference.
Where is this administration and congress leading the country?
Down the golden road of perpetual prosperity?
I agree with Beck on that point...if one believes irreparable harm is being done by elected officials shouldn't one stand up and say so?
1/2 the country did against Bush why is this any different? Why is this Dangerous?

okay, have fun believing what ya want. There is a huge difference though between not agreeing with what our leaders are doing and them being secret Nazi dictators. If you think I'm making this up then you should educate yourself on what Glenn spews during his nightly Fox show. He has said that over and over.
