"The National Hockey League has fined the Maple Leafs for “inappropriate public comments” made by coach Ron Wilson about pending free agents Daniel and Henrik Sedin prior to the opening of the market on July 1."

Not entirely true, the leafs had to forfeit a draft pick last year when they signed Frogren when they were caught tampering.

i think thats a different situation. there are varying degrees of tampering. this seems like the lowest degree.
