I belong to a club at UB, Students for the Exploration and Development of Space (SEDS). We are committed to furthering the goals of space exploration and education.

One thing that we are trying to do is to rebuild a dilapidated astronomy observatory on north campus for use by students and the community. We have applied to and been accepted to the Pepsi Refresh Project, eligible for a $50,000 grant.

Pepsi started the Refresh Project with money they saved from not running Superbowl commercials. Each month, they award $1.3 million worth of grants to the top 10 ideas in each category, voted on by the public.
