I still can't believe they made that big of a deal over the contract, there were already deals like this and the NHL did nothing about it, Hossa's 12 year contract is just absurd to think he's playing the entire deal.

I guess 17 was a bit too much, but who's to really say Kovalchuk doesn't play the entire deal. It's not like he'll need money then, but he seriously could play til he is 42 or longer, Chelios did, Hasek nearly played til he was 45 or something.

Lidstrom is 40 right now, or will be.

New rule - no more copy/pasting TSN/ESPN/Sabres.com headlines. Caps lock burns my eyes.

And now they are 3.7M over cap, they either have to trade 2 roster players, or move Zajac...this is far from over

the first section deals with the devils options to get under the cap. THN does not believe that lou will look to trade zajac. They believe it likely that the devils will hide cap in the AHL (seeing how it is likely to be hard to move Zubrus, and the captain has that NTC), but you are free to read the article yourself.

One word: Zubrus

They will try as hard as hell to move him.

Everyone forgets they have Zubrus. They'll deal him somewhere.

What's his cap hit for the new deal anyways?

Only makes 3.4M they need to clear at least 3.7M They could run with 6 defensive men, but they're screwed if one gets hurt on a road trip.

Cap hit is 6.66M

Of course this would be a more manageable problem if they hadn't brought in Arnott with his 4.5M.

ewww now i guess they are going to restructure the rest of the leagues deals by 1 or 2 million dollars too. Oh Bettman you're such a powerful man, the way you make them redo everything. Thank god we lost 1 1/2 seasons under your superior leadership, you really showed us fans who was boss, just like you're showing the owners.

6.66 million is nothing for Kovalchuk. What a steal of a price for him.

Did you even read anything on this resolution or did you instead decide to post out of your ass?

I'm sure a few people will say something to the contrary. Probably the same ones who said trading for him was stupid. Well, he's a Devil for life now(him and his lazy, no defense, goal-scoring ass). At 6.6, I'll take 2 please.
