Although it woulda been nice to have won the home opener, we ain't gonna win every game. I'll admit, that game pissed me off to major extents, but I don't think Vanek alone is to blame. Infact, I don't think anyone player can really be called out more than any other. We didn't get the bounces, the reff was on his knees most of the night blowing the game as a lot of those calls against us likely weren't legit (hand passes etc) but over all, it was Gionta's bastardly hands that did us in.

Ok, so we look ahead to tomorrow night and the 'Yotes are in town. If this is one of those teams we "should" beat, then lets get the 2 pts and go 1-1 on the season. Just hope they don't take them too lightly.

On a side note, every leaf fan I know when I got back to work today asked me "How was it to watch your Sabres LOSE in person to the Habs?" Why is it that when I said, "What the fuck are you talking about? Your boys can't beat them either?", all I get is a "Fuck off..." and they walk away?

If one can give it, shouldn't one be able to take it?

Why would they care the opinion of the media anyways? They are more clueless then the fans in most aspects of life also and of sports, yes they get first hand encounters to talk to players, but it's not like we can't see the press conference after games either, media isn't allowed in locker rooms for a reason also, just like how we as fans aren't. We do not know what is said behind closed doors, and neither does the media, they get press conferences and game time, that is it, just like us.

Any douche bag with a blog or pen could write and submit an article to a newspaper and be called "media".

Let's see...he draws a penalty after working the boards behind the net, then scores on the PP from WAY OUT in the low slot, where all those fancy pants girly players always try to score form.

Did everyone notice how empty the net was too...I mean after it went through the five hole?

This game doesn't mean much either as far as a meaningful assesment, but it shows how ridiculous it is to start summing up a player's season in October.
