I'm always kind to opposing teams fans when they come to Pittsburgh, and I'll be even nicer now that I don't care about the Penguins. This younger generation of Penguins fans are pretty much dicks. Well, I take that back, it's more like a fan-cell than a generation. Some people, when you see them, you just know they are dicks, and it's very predictable when I see them dump a beer on somebody's head or making sure that the fight they start is being video recorder by his girl.

I'd say that 60% of Pens fans don't really care what jersey you wear or who you're rooting for as long as you don't continuously bother people by acting the fool. Another 30% will give you a look or make a snide remark (usually good natured) and will be sure to let you know what the score is when they are leading. And then there's the 10% dicks, probably closer to 3% but be warned. The Sabres don't really register on the rivalry radar. There were some epic playoff series in the past, but NOTHING like Philly or Washington. Those are THE most hated around here.

I think Toronto fans were REALLY starting to wear out their welcome, Caps fans are getting pretty obnoxious too but unlike the Leafs fans they don't show up in big numbers. As for the Flyers, well shit. I've been goign to Penguin games for decades and I do not recall EVER...not one time seeing a Flyers jersey in the Mellon Arena. I'm sure there have been plenty, I just know that I've never seen one.

funny story

my friend got playoff tickets year pens won the cup recently

he accidentally wore an orange hoody to the game, and he a lot of shit for it

MOst likely because its the fact I am who I am, but ive been getting shit for years about the sabres

then again, I am the person who wore a habs jersey to school the day after they knocked out th pens this year

I have a sort of blue colored Timberland jacket that I wore once to a Steeler game when the Panthers were in town, it was pretty close to the blue in their uniforms. I didn't get a lot of grief for it until some guy walked up to our seats with two full beers, one for me and one for my girlfriend. But he wasn't giving them to us to drink, he was gonna dump them on us! Luckily he noticed my Big Ben jersey underneath before following through!.

Epilogue: I did get a drink dumped on me by accident at a Steelers game, by some stupid, fat, clumsy whore faced douche lover.

Aka EVERY STEELERS FAN EVER

I went to a game at HSBC Arena against the Leafs. Awful fans. Just awful. Really obnoxious. Just yelling and swearing and saying god awful things, and there was a kid near him. Walking back to my car, I see a car full of Leafs fans and they shouted out of their car Sabres suck and flipped me off. It was horrible. Those guys are cowardly assholes who deserve to be thrown in the rape dungeon.

When I went to the fair, there were several steelers hats/jerseys/apparrel. (The steelers have just as big a bandwagon fanbase as the Cowboys and Patriots). Every single one, without exception was 300+ pounds, and carrying food. Even the guy walking up to the gate to get in. Where the fuck did he get his food?

The worse experience I ever had at an opposing arena was at Washington. The "fans" were rude, threw pretzels at all the sabres fans and then after the game (the sabres lost...) there was an obnoxious chick on the metro and I said, "congratz, it was a good game" and she proclaimed she wanted to fight me. Awesome...so friendly

I like going to the games in Tampa because it's 1/2 Sabres fans. Good times.

I've never been a fan at an opposing arena, but I've seemed some assholes at HSBC.

"This arena sucks and this country sucks and so does everyone in it." - Loud proclamation by two 20-something Sens fans on their way out.

The fucking Phoenix fans, a dad and his kid that sat behind me last season. Like where the fuck are there Coyotes fans in NY? I was fine with them until the dad stood up and imitated the howling goal horn. Then I promptly murdered him while the ushers and security watched and applauded.

The afore mentioned beer tossing Ranger's fan.

The leafs fans next to me at a fucking Sabres - Panthers game talking about how much the Sabres sucked. Like seriously go to your own fucking building or stay home. I am convinced that at least 80% of the opposing fans in our building are just poor leafs fans with every other team's jersey in their closet because their team blows.

The first thing that goes through my head when my team is eliminated from the SCP: "As long as the Leafs or Flyers don't win it...:

I don't blame them, because they sure do like to get drunk and rowdy.

Yessir. My first Sabres @ Canes game three years back had BUS LOADS of college kids driving down already wasted. Very loud and crazy. It was an honor to be among them :-D haha.

My other three times at RBC have gone pretty smooth. Believe it or not, it's the women in their fifties who complain the most about Sabres fans. Swear to god.

I went to MSG with my brother and his girlfriend (Rags fans) and i caught shit from the train ride into NY, and the train ride back lol! Brutal fans. I was scared when i was pissing haha!!

I was in Atlanta for a sabres away game. (lucky me). There were far more sabres fans in there than thrashers fans.
I haven't been to Verizon center yet, but I need some NoVA peeps to contact me so we can hook something up!

I've been to three opposing arenas: Montreal, Boston, and San Jose. San Jose fans were the nicest, even though their team got shelled 7-2. There was only one guy who kept on making comments about Buffalo fans being "republicans" every time I'd scream out. If only he knew how wrong he was in my case. Boston fans were the meanest. I swear they spent more time heckling the Sabres than they did cheering for the Bruins. I felt semi-lucky to make it out unscathed. Montreal fans were fine, though a little more hostile than the Sharks fans. Of course, I wasn't wearing Sabres colors like I was in the other places, plus I lived there, so I knew how to deal with Montrealers.

been to a game in Toronto as a sabre fan and i've gone to a sabres canadiens game in montreal. the fans didn't really jeer me in either place. I'm pretty sure they didn't care i was there, but i'm not exactly the most obnoxious guy. heck i've been grouped with habs fan in our arena (drunk sabres fan came over and said i love you habs fans), because i was talking to habs fans after last years season opener.

I think all fan bases have good fans and douchebag fans, some more than others. For example, when I went to the Sabres-Habs game (in Buffalo) where we scored twice in the last 1:30 and then won in the shootout, there was an obnoxious Habs fan in front of me with a team colored scarf thing and would yell "RESPECT THE BOA!" when the Habs were out in front. So when we won, my friend and I did what was right and asked him kindly to respect the boa. Then on the way to the parking ramp, there were some nicer Habs fans in front of us and one turned to us and goes, "You guys want Spacek back?" We all proceeded to have a good laugh about it. So, that made me think that all fan bases have nice fans and douchebag fans.

Admiral games are nuts, on one end of the rink is this die-hard section that i swear to god doesn't miss a game, whenever the opposition is on that side they start a chant that goes roughly *goalies name* 3-5 times followed up by a YOU SUCK. I'm not sure if it started here or if we stole it, I'm not even sure if it extends beyond the building. (I think the Chicago Wolves tried it once)

And I'm going to a game on my B-day. Yes!

yeah, they do that chant at just about every minor league/college game.

for some reason, at michigan games, a telephone will ring through out the arena. and when this happens, the student section will go, in unison "HELLO?" *slight pause* "YEAH, JUST A SECOND. HEY *insert goalies name here*, ITS YOUR MOM! SHE SAYS 'YOU SUCK'! SIEVE SIEVE SIEVE SIEVE SIEVE SIEVE SIEVE! ITS ALL YOUR FAULT! ITS ALL YOUR FAULT."

at western michigan games, whenever an opposing team gets a penalty, the whole arena yells "OOOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHH *door to box closes* SEE YA, BITCH!"
