When did they take away the goat and add the slug to the jumbotron?

Mike, I REALLY like that idea.

Alex, they got rid of the Goat immediately after they switched to the Slug, but the current Slugs on the Jumbotron didn't get installed until a year later when they put up the new Jumbotron.

Edit: CORRECTION: They did put up the new Slugs immediately, but the sabres behind it didn't get added until the new Jumbotron got installed.

It'll likely be raised during the game against the Rags (I'm hoping, at least! We're gonna be at that game avec Phil & guest).

This is my take on what it may look like, maybe I'm wrong since the logo wasn't "Official" last season and the slug was still listed as our primary but here's what I tossed together in paint:

yes, the slugs went up on the old 8 sided sony jumbotron right away.

phil, if i can find someone with photoshop, im going to alter that picture even more. where the white bison is, and where the swords cross, im going to invert the line back to red.

but that might be too busy.

eh, my bet is the banner is probably already up. they usually only do a banner raising ceremony if you win the whole thing. they may cover it and unveil it during the pre-game. but a banner raising ceremony is probably not going to happen.

I thought they painted the ads. They aren't very far below the ice surface, it just gets scraped down, painted, and resurfaced.

yeah, i thought it was plastic sheets. plastic doesnt bond to ice, so its painted. except the playoff logos.
