i appreciate emo in it's original form. that is, the evolution of post-punk and post-hardcore bands, particularly in d.c. during the mid-late 80s, but i will never understand it's relevance in a forum where it is used as a derogatory, write-off blanket statement to discount one who isn't as frequent as the rest.

all i'm asking, you guys, is that you count me in. i have books to read, and i'm pretty extroverted, but there's nothing wrong with that. i try sometimes.

yeah, it's ridiculous that the misconceptions about that genre can cause people to write off some of the amazing bands on dischord. i guess, in some ways, it probably is better than having huge crowds turn up to things that are better with smaller, more intimate crowds. that's what it's all about anyway.

quality over quantity.

It has nothing to do with your frequency of appearances or posts.

If you can't make it, say you can't make it. If you can, say you can. Why make a post that says 'Whaa, nobody would want me there!!' ? Doesn't make sense. Not one person that I've seen had even hinted at not wanting you to show up and meet everyone.

Shit, ferret was hated by many people on the other boards, yet people were still glad to meet him when he showed up to one.

i'm not trying to start an argument, but that was really the point of my post. i didn't state that people were opposed to seeing me, i simply mentioned that no one would want to.

i was just stating the obvious, which is that me being there or not being there probably wouldn't matter. it's not that i feel people don't want me there, it's that i have things to do and i realize that it won't matter to anyone on here, mainly because i haven't met anyone on here.

it was really more of an apathetic statement than an emotionally charged one.

Unfortunately I cannot attend either. Puck Drop always seems to be on a weekend where I need to go home for family things. I got my sisters baby shower/Moms birthday celebration this weekend. One of these days I swear I will get to a puck drop though! I do have a feeling that this being the anniversary season though, that my mural pic will be gone. :(

I wondered what they were going to do with it now that Hank is gone.

it will depend on how i feel. Been battling this reoccurring virus that likes to cause the common cold this week. It should be on the down swing, but i will have to make that decision tomorrow morning.

Alas I will stuck in a location 10 MINUTES AWAY.

Originally I was going to be about 80 minutes away? I would take that right now.
