I was talking fantasy hockey with some guys at work and when i said how many teams were in the league as we were comparing leagues, they shook their heads at how shit the late players will be.

Yeah, this draft is going to take forever. I did a 12 team, 25 player football draft once which is 60 LESS players than this draft and that took like 2.5 hours.


I recommend possibly making only one goalie start. With two starting goalies and everyone keeping 2.5 goalies on staff thats 50 drafted goalies most likely. yikes.

due to the likely insane amount of time its going to take to draft in this league, would doing a autodraft be a better option?

okay, so i took away a few rounds by removing a couple bench players. but i looked at where we would roughly fall player wise and we aren't in that bad of shape actually. plus with the few breakout players that will come through (Myers, Niemi) i think it will actually turn into a season where fantasy skill has to be used in order to succeed.

Well here's the thing, you gotta find guys like an Adam Mair, or a Steve Bernier, who may not be high scoring threats, but can chalk up some good PIMs and chip in a point here and there.

I like big leagues, it really makes every week more competitive. I played in a league last year where my forwards were Ovechkin, Iginla, Vanek, D. Sedin, Savard, and I think Perry or Kunitz, can't remember. Either way, what skill does that league take? None, you just draft super names, and watch them rack up stats...no thank ya
