I personally don't smoke pot, but it's really illegal for no reason. It's a bit more dangerous than alcohol (very little difference) but it's not as bad as others.

How is it more dangerous than alcohol?

It isn't.

End of argument.

I smoke once in a blue moon, like once every three to six months. I just can't afford to mess around with criminals in order to get high so I just don't. It would be nice to be able to walk into a shop, buy a pack of pre rolled joints and go home to some Cheetos and video games without worrying about being busted. It would be fun to go out and smoke a bit while playing discgolf and not worry.

I see either this or prop 19 headed to the Supreme Court eventually. Better enjoy it while you can Cross, i think it gets overturned in a few years.

It varies. If you like to be a dumb ass and drink until your liver implodes in one day, then no, it's not more dangerous. But if you drink every so often without downing it like an elephant, pot is more dangerous. Of course, people are biased otherwise, because of the legal issue.

I've always maintained it doesn't really matter.
It's not like they really enforce it now (only if you get caught while driving or something) and it's not like it's difficult to get now black market or otherwise.

Sigh... Marijuana is never more dangerous than alcohol, in any circumstance.

I've done both and I say alcohol is more dangerous to me. Pot doesn't blur my vision or make me wobble around like alcohol does.

It could be different for anyone really. But to me, pot is nowhere near as dangerous as alcohol as it really just slows you down but you have to think harder about everything.

Not to beat a dead horse but...again, how is pot "more dangerous?". You simply restated that it is instead of actually giving a reason. I mean, take casual use of both and explain how pot is more dangerous. Having been trained as a Substance Abuse Tech and having extensive experience in SARC units, I'm curious where your thoughts, facts and/or stats are coming from.

Guys, on a quick tangential sidenote I'd love to ask the smokers a question:

If some conscientious scientist were to genetically engineer some cannabis to make it more potent, would you be interested in smoking that? Would you feel comfortable with it?
It would be a simple upregulation of the genes encoding for cannabinoid production. Basically, we just add copies of the native genes, to make the plant do what it naturally does, just more of it, no foreign genes would be inserted. Would you feel safe smoking that?

Sure, why not.
People seem to forget most of the food and other natural items we consume have been genetically modified by humans via selective breeding.
I don't make the distinction whether it's done over hundreds of years or in a lab.

It kills brain cells, and that's way more dangerous than damaging your liver. As I said, it varies. If you drink a shit load yeah, it's more dangerous. But if you don't, pot is more dangerous, due to the long term effect on your brain.

Brain cells regenerate, faster than ever thought before. The liver doesn't.

What studies have shown this? Everything they try and show you is practically false.

Is it dangerous? Yes. But so is nicotine, alcohol, and anything else. Is weed the worst drug on the planet? No, not even close.

And Yankee, sure, if you could make it more potent, the want for more to feel the same is out the window.

A vaporizer would be nice, but those mothers cost upwards of 350$
