It was unsportsmanlike.
He was getting held up along the boards and he started yelling at the Refs "Aren't you going to call this?"
They took exception to that.
I found it pretty out-of-character for Grier.

That is very out-of-character for Grier. When the most patient guy on the team is yelling at the refs, you know the officiating is bad.

Not to argue or anything because I agree, but it reminded me of a show I watched on NHL Network. It was called "A Refs Life, behind the stripes"...and there was a part where they were at a Sabres game officiating. The refs had mics on and Grier was coming up to the ref and asking why there was no call and the ref said something along the lines of..."get out of here Mike, you dont have an A...you're going to get thrown out".
