so i have a bit of a problem with the latest mask im working on and i come before the masses to hoping to get an opinion or at least a direction.
I have a hockey mask that im working on and while ive had an idea for some time, i have yet to come up with a finalized design....and have in fact come up with a couple more ideas.
original idea: Japanese Mask.
The base would be an off-white with light brown and tan shadows in the groves of the mask. a red rising sun would be on the chin with rays coming off of it that would gradually fade out as they move toward the side. on the top i have the 7 principles of Bushido (samurai code of chivalry) splitting the top of the mask in half. the characters would be in red with a red vertical line on either side of the characters...kind of like Millers special mask from a couple years ago. On one side i would have a samurai helmet similar to the skateboard that i did a while back. the other side is where i get a little tripped up. it would either be several stalks of bamboo in the same style as the Japanese ink paintings. the other idea was a classic japanese skyline or a cherry blossom tree that are in the same ink painting style.
second idea: Art mask
Ive had this one for some time but never really had the balls to try it. I would cover the mask with classical art images. on one side i would put the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel with Michelangelos David underneath. on the dome would probably be Mona Lisa, the other side could be a picasso drawing, something by Salvador Dali, etc.
third (new) idea: Goalie Tribute
Cover the mask with images of great goalies. Hasek, Dryden, Cheevers, maybe Brodure, Vezina, Plante, etc. i came up with this idea all of 30minutes ago so im still working that one a bit.
so i ask. what are your opinions, ideas, concerns. etc?
