Leopold: I was pissed with what he did that gave the Senators their first goal. He should have put the puck back in the zone. Other than that, I thought he was great.

Morrissonn: He just fits. He just does his job and does it well. No mistakes I don't think? This is exactly what we were hoping for.

Drew: I think he has serious potential and I really hope he tries and does get back to where we all hoped he would be a few years ago.

Hecht: Never liked this guy, I want him out. Same with Connolly. Connolly may have good hands but he has zero physicality to him. I'm still pissed that he didn't show up for the playoffs. He's worth something in the trade market, get him out. He'll probably get injured anyways.

Overall, we should have scored more than we did. I'm okay with that, I like the chances. Vanek looks like he'll be a beast this year. He looked great.

GO SABRES!!!

You're kidding, right? If not for his drive into the zone, Roy wouldn't have scored the 2nd goal. Plain and simple.

I hope Taro sticks around and it wasn't just a gimmick post.

I didn't write that! lol

Don't be a gizz-burglar.

I agree with you, when Myers said "Eff-it" and carried up through the n-zone himself, it was the best d-zone breakout of the game.

The bad news about this game was the breakout. For whatever reason(s) it seems like there aren't enough options for the blue liners, or that it's very predictable for the other team to read the defense men. I can't stand neutral zone turnovers, this is something the team needs to work on early and often.

It bothers me a lot too. The Sabres have had this problem for a long time. Sekera doesn't help the matter, wtf was he doing out there anyways? I thought Butler won that job?

Myers: I wasn't impressed. He seemed to try to take things in his own hands a bit too much and he made a couple mistakes I didn't like. I'm just scared of the sophmore slump is all.

Roy: Looks like a new player. The first goal was sick. He looks faster and his hands look better.

Ennis: Love this kid. He was/is responsible for most of my excitement for the beginning of the season. Give him time. If he figures out how the game is played at the NHL level, he will be a tremendous player I think.

eh... yeah couldn't disagree more about Myers, Sekera made a pretty sick little breakout pass (in the 1st?) on his backhand but it didn't lead to any speed through the n-zone. When you can only look at two really nice breakout plays, well they can do better. They have to do better. The sooner they start, the better.

Ennis actually had two assists, not to nitpick. I am a stats dork, though (not as big of one as Alex, let it be known, but no one is).

I thought Morrisonn-Myers have shown already that they are not a pair to try anything against. Pretty plays get the puck picked away, hard-checking plays get plastered into the ice, and they're a force on the PK. They have good, silent chemistry and know how to get the puck to each other or out of the zone smoothly.

Two? Excellent, can't wait to see what he does when he gets a little more comfortable out there! He's got some great skill!

I think the double M pairing will be tremendous, there's really not much anybody can do against them if they are positionally sound and physical. And I mean like anybody.

Also, to add to my earlier post, I think that next time Leopold should pass it back to Miller.
