Aren't those the same kids that sang a song about Obama during the presidential election? Not really surprised they'd sing a song about healthcare. In any case I think anyone who is supportive of a US president or wants one to succeed clearly hates America or has been brainwashed...

Hoping that the Democrats actually fix anything in this country comes on the second day of brainwashing right after being tolerant of non-Catholics and just before the session on disapproving of wars in Iraq....did you forget? Stupid.

No.

No? Did you sing a lot of songs about controversial public policy when you were a kid?

So far we've seen what, maybe 6-8 incidents of schoolchildren singing or chanting things that are clearly partisan.
What's your threshold before your red flag goes up? 20? 100? A mandate from a school district? A mandate from the Department of Education?

Do you have a threshold?

People can only cite this sort of thing happening once when Bush was in office and his wife was in the damn room being sung to personally.

President Obama is the kindest, bravest, warmest, most wonderful human being I've ever known in my life. To suggest otherwise may get you permanently placed on the "dissident list", which is not a place you or your family want to be found. http://www.washingtonexaminer.com/opini ... 71822.html

This isn't a Democrat only happening.

How many schools wouldn't show the Presidents' speech to the kids? Think that was a Non-partisan decision? please. He's the flipping President talking about staying in school, not doing drugs, making smart decisions...kind of like old Nancy Reagan speaking to us through the boob tube every other month when I was in school. "Just Say No"....now the President isn't allowed to talk to school kids without permission slips. Old white woman is fine, 1st black President...nope. Bush sat there reading when the Towers fell and we laughed about it but some sick part of my jaded mind thinks that Obama wouldn't even have the chance to stay sitting on his ass because people would be questioning what book he was reading, is he slipping in subliminal messages?, is he leering at the young 8 year old girl with pig tails in the front row?, is he "indoctrinating" our youth?!!, RUN!!! CLOSE THE SCHOOL!!!

I for one am ashamed that the Dems are spineless, don't use their power to make any change, pander and compromise EVERYTHING and haven't come through on most of their promises. I am also ashamed that the Republicans are so lost as a party that the hate and fear mongers have taken over, more interested in making sure the democrats get nothing accomplished than what is best for the citizens that elected them. I think that their are a lot of legit things to worry about without more gas thrown in the mix. I'm ashamed that both parties are run by special interest money, singing to the tune of greased wheels and padded pockets.

I have changed to an Independent since both parties are too entrenched in battling to make progress and have become so addicted to special interest money to be trusted. I think our founders would look at Washington today and support a full out Revolution against it, appalled at how their ideas have been twisted to benefit a few at the expense of millions. All I can do is shake my head and say that for the first time in my life I am afraid of my government, and I mean them all. The strong, the weak, the corrupt and the silent. Maybe this is a common feeling for people entering their 30's or maybe it's a sign of the times, I honestly don't know. I always joked about being more happy in the mountains somewhere in a cozy cabin by a lake but now I'm starting to think I may be on to something.

While I appreciate everything you wrote, I wasn't talking about Obama's speech to schoolkids.
I never had any problem with that at all, and that's not what this thread is about.

This is about teachers taking matters into their own hands....the creepy songs, chants and praises.
The white house, or any political party for that matter, isn't dumb enough to try to make kids do that...that stupidity exists on a local level.

Choosing to not let the president speak to the kids is an example of schools, teachers etc taking matters into their own hands. And there is a big difference between a song and a chant. This thread is about public schools doing things that you find wrong, in particularly in the political arena, well I find it wrong to keep the President of the U.S. from talking to it's youngest citizens. That isn't Obama fever, it's reality and I was simply comparing and pointing out that partisan politics in schools is not a guilt held strictly by Dems.

The above videos are just harmless examples of how properly conditioned subjects are able to fall into line without hesitation, dissent or resistance. Obama's "Enemies List" will only help our great country identify those who have the greatest need for proper conditioning. It's all for the greater good.

The Obama Symbol is simply the current red queen. Note the similarities in the conditioning we find in the two videos below...

And here:

And I'm not defending that, but equating the omission of what some mistakenly thought as politics and deliberately injecting politics are two totally different things.
Am I being naive when I think a public grade school should be free of partisan politics?

right...this is a chant

and so is this...

but this is just a sweet innocent song.

No?
I challenge you to find anything remotely similar coming from conservative teachers.
If you can find a non-castrated conservative teacher that is.

Now I'm confused. When I wrote that I wouldn't fault Obama or any President for things that others do on their own that are stupid the reaction wasn't the one I'm seeing here. To be fair I haven't kept on this thread so I may have missed it.

Obama fever runs all over the country. From the people who sing his praises only 6 months in to his term, to the people who paint him as the anti-christ, resurrection of Hitler, socialist, etc etc. It's all over blown.

The conversation on where this country is headed is disingenuous at best. A rational, civil conversation about many issues in this country can't occur because the truth is horribly distorted. Even worse we reward bad behavior. If you call someone a liar or say others want you to die you're now a champion for your cause. Sad.

XC your challenge to find something similar is pointless. The criteria is subjective and honestly to think that somewhere in this country it hasn't occurred in say the last 10 years is naive in my opinion. It's just like the old saying "if a tree falls in the woods and no one is around to hear it does it make a sound?" Yes it does. Unless it's in a vacuum then yes it will make a sound.

This is a big nation. The culture that fosters over hyped pro Obama crap isn't thriving in every state. Just because we haven't heard of any songs praising Bush or condemning Obama by school children doesn't mean it doesn't happen.

Also I'm just throwing it out there. XC, to me at least it really seems like you are painting conservatives as a group that would never do anything like that. I mean really putting the challenge out there to find some garbage youtube video where a conservative teacher has his or her students some political propaganda and then implying you won't because they would never do that, is crap.

Why do I have such a hard time believing that? Well I seem to recall a little jingle called "Barrack the Magic Negro".

Bring that song up is just to point out that yes there are people who are liberal, moderate, and conservative that do really stupid things. To put forth the challenge that not one conservative teacher in public school has ever done something similar to what the original song in this thread was about is just pointless. The reality is it probably happens a lot more than anyone realizes on both sides. It's just right now one side is looking for anything to bash the other side with/fire up their own base.

The outrage over the children singing a song about the President during Black History Month and honestly looking at the lyrics isn't really that outrageous. Yes I still feel like it was in bad taste to do it but the umbrage that people are having over it seems out of place/manufactured. I think some people here have some Obama fever...

Also I know this doesn't belong in this thread but I'm sick of conservatives talking about how liberal the media is but then they boast about how Fox News dominates in the ratings. I see things like "on prime time Fox News had more than CNN, MSNBC, and everyone else combined!" Yes, please keep crying and then contradicting yourselves.

No. There are tons of batshit insane "conservatives".

So find one.
It's really easy to find the liberal / Obama ones.

I really enjoy reading your posts man. Well thought and clear. I was thinking of something that is a bit off topic but let me tell you something that's happening at my son's school. Coming up the children will be taking a tour of the local Fox news studio and learning about how the show is done, the booths, the sets etc. I think that it will be fun and teach the kids a lot. Having said that, my personal opinion of Fox news in general is pretty low and I could see that if this shoe were say on the other foot and the children were taking a tour of MSNBC or CNN that many parents and a lot of media idiots like Beck, Hannity would blow it out of proportion. I can see them turning the field trip into some liberal indoctrination trip, forcing the kids to go to it and listen to their partisan ideals. Of course this is just a fun field trip for the kids but with the right trying to bite on anything to make the left look bad I really see how it could be twisted if the roles were reversed. Just a little tid bit from my life, sorry.

Your local Fox station != Sean Hannity
(well, I guess unless you live in Manhattan)

It's just a local news Fox affiliate.

Keep fucking those chickens!!!!!!!!!!! Fox affiliates are the greatest. I'm not joking here either. I can't tell you how many tears I've shed because of that clip.

Thanks for pointing out the obvious XC, I'm not that slow. I was pointing out that if an affiliate from a liberal soap box were to offer a tour I could see people getting pissed and blowing it out of proportion. I on the other hand am simply saying that I have zero problem with it and think it will be fun for the kids. Now putting the shoe on the other foot I have a sneaking suspicion that it wouldn't go over so smoothly with the right. But what do I know, I'm just having an Obamagasm in my pants.
