Stafford, Vanek, and Myers...Terrible games tonight.

Myers i'm giving a pass on for now, but Vanek and Stafford have been on my shit list since two years ago.

Taro says, we'll get'em next time (Nov.11). In the meantime, let's see how we stack up this week against the Hawks, Devils, and Habs.

Taro says, remember old Japanese proverb, "if you do not enter the tiger's cave, you will not catch its cub."

I ain't gonna say shit yet, cuz it's only 2 games, but I'm only mad at one player so far. Getting pissed at Vanek and Staffy is unwarranted at this point. Maybe he just means in an overall sense he's disappointed in them?

Leopold: He made a nice shot on that first goal, and you could tell that he was amped after that, he was the Sabres best defense man in that game by far, maybe the best player they had. He stepped it up and was solid defensively and he even scored a second, better goal later on.

Myers: That first period was brutal, he couldn't do anything right! He blocked a shot on the power and THAT almost resulted in chance against. Then one bounces in off his wheel, then he blows a tire and that leads to a goal too. Later on he wiffed on a pass that lead to another odd man break, and he didn't play the 2 on 1 very well either! Throw this game away Tyler!

The forwards: Seems like the reason they don't have a good breakout is because the forwards want to cheat ahead. Then, in the second they started to support each other, but then they couldn't get the forecheck going. It wasn't until about 10 minutes left that the Sabres found their legs and played their game. I think they may need to step up their conditioning. They got out worked, and they made way too many mistakes.

What a complete dissapointment.

Myers hasn't looked good in either game. I said it last night and got hated on. Sure, maybe he made a couple decent plays in the 1st game, but he didn't look like the Tyler Myers we know.

The overall effort was pretty crappy tonight. The Sabres once again have no chemistry on the breakout whatsoever. This has been a problem for a lonnnnngggg time.

Sucks

Sabres: Being idiots tonight, screw them

Now now, many of those goals were not his fault. Defensive collapse. He didn't play to expectations, but it's back to back games and bad defense.

Several individuals will disagree highly with you on Miller not accepting blame for allowing soft goals. Some of those goals were soft goals, if you choose to believe.

The next game will be a must win on a righted ship.

Vanek has been on the hit list too long. He should be netting 40+ goals a season, not struggling to break 20+ at the end. He can put up or shut up, or we can get the necessary point producing linemate he needs desparately.

actually, i agree with B&Y on this one, at the game, everyone seemed so bad defensivly and out of position. we had so many oppertunities to get the puck out of the zone and we failed to do so.

Keeping the puck out of our zone has been problematic for several seasons. Defensemen do not need to make a simple task a complexity. I doubt they want to revive the Darth Tallinder and Darth Lydman dimwit show. Myers, Butler, and Sekera need a crash course so they do not smoke up the joint as failed defensemen have done.

I know, but I noticed it A LOT more this game.

Agreed, and I would not doubt we did not possess the puck for much time. Both concepts go together, sadly.

I'll be glad to discuss hockey with you when you want to use facts.

Vanek has scored more than 20 every year he's been in the NHL. He's never 'struggled to break 20 at the end' as you say. He had an injury plagued season last year, and still put in 28. Most players who would have had that string of injuries would have been lucky to get 15 or so.

Try again.

You want to play with facts? That is fine with me. My turn.

Vanek waits until the end of the season to play catch up in goals scored.

Why does he not show up consistently during the season? He has a very bad work ethic and has too many brief hot moments/long ice cold streaks. If he can get his head out of his butt, which was logjammed last night, he can be productive consistently, and be among the top scorers like Crosby, Ovechkin and Malkin.

Those are not facts. Those are subjective opinions.

The facts are that Vanek, although being injured much of last year, and missing 11 games due to injury, lead the team in goals. The facts are that Vanek has lead this team in goal scoring for each of the last 4 seasons.

Vanek had 28 goals last year. You know who else had 28? Malkin. You also can tell nothing about Vanek's work ethic by watching him on TV.
