Quote:
BLACKHAWKS (0-1-1) at SABRES (1-1-0)

Season series: These teams will meet twice in the span of six days, with Buffalo paying a visit to Chicago on Oct. 16. Backup goalie Patrick Lalime turned in a 39-save performance to lead the Sabres to a 2-1 win on Dec. 11, 2009, their only meeting with the Blackhawks last season.

Big story: It's too soon to start seriously talking about a Stanley Cup hangover, but Chicago enters its third game of the season still looking for its first victory.

Sabres: Just like its opponent Monday, the home opener didn't go quite the way Buffalo would have liked, either. Ryan Miller yielded five goals on 27 shots -- including three to Derek Stepan in his NHL debut -- and the Sabres wasted a pair of goals from defenseman Jordan Leopold in a 6-3 loss to the Rangers.

"We weren't good," coach Lindy Ruff said. "We had a period of maybe 10 minutes in the second period where we put the work boots on. I'm pretty disappointed with our work ethic.

Stat pack: Chicago defenseman Duncan Keith, the reigning Norris Trophy winner, is already logging major minutes, playing a game-high 30:01 against Detroit. … Buffalo defenseman Tyler Myers, the reigning Calder Trophy winner, has an assist and a minus-3 rating in the first two games.

not really. 24 h before the game no GDT --> everybody can open it.

by the way : Buffalo will win it . the sabres mostly win when the black wings lose. (friday 0:9 against Zagreb, 3:4 against VSV )

Black wings, dark meat. I could go for come Buffalo chicken wings tonight.

Guaranteed win tonight, everyone. Miller, Myers, and Vanek's heads will be screwed on very tight.

Yosh is right, if the is a game the night before then the GDT needs to go up during or shortly after the current game. Any other game the GDT should be up 24 hours before...or right around there. He made this at 3:12am, more than enough time for Sabresrocker to get it posted.

It's a phrase that basically means, if you wanna see the Sabres at the top, turn the rankings.

I think it's fair to give the person until the morning of the game to get the thread up. The whole 24 hour rule was Schony's thing, and I personally think it's a bit much, especially considering all the back to backs.

Why don't we try this:

- If you sign up for a GDT, have it up by noon on game day. If it's not, it's first come first serve.

Sound fair?

sabresrocker wasn't online the last days...

Quote:
Afternoon is the time of day from 12:00 p.m. (noon) to — depending upon context — evening, sunset, or 6:00 p.m. Its use is often quite subjective.

The term should not be confused with "after noon" (two separate words), which is a translation of the Latin "post meridiem" (p.m.) as used in the 12-hour clock, meaning a time of day from noon to midnight.

In Australia and New Zealand, the word "arvo" is a slang term for afternoon.
good to know , thx wikipedia

I don't think it's that big a deal. We just don't like to get angry PMs from people who thought that someone stole their GDT. Happened a couple times last year, not fun for us. :)

I hope they play good tonight. They need to follow up that Bills game with a win.

I like that McCormick is back in.

I see a low scoring win.

Why do people waste their time with the Bills. That team is fucking brutal! 0-16 I hope because they need a quarterback and an offensive line and a defense. That team is going to take years to rebuild.

No big deal on the GDT. I was just about to do it. I'll do one another time.

Also, why is Stafford still on the first line? He has shown nothing through the first two games.

Uh, no, that's not cause for celebration - don't forget the Sabres have a habit of making back-ups and rookies look like Vezina winners.
