I've been watching the games and I've seen Andrej make some pretty good plays in his own end. Thoughts?

That was a terrible play to lose a game.

well someone should have picked up kovalchuk. And I know Miller was the one reason the game even went to overtime...but great goaltenders stop great players and Hossa and Kovalchuk have lit him up the two previous games.

but hey, we're used the team getting off to a ridiculous start and seeing them cool down. 06-07, 08-09, and 09-10 kind of spoiled us

no reason the opposite can't happen.

Are you serious? Miller isn't going to stop all the shots by great players. When you leave Kovalchuk all alone that close in front of the net he's going to score. When Hossa comes in a breakaway he's probably going to score. When you lose a game 1-0 in overtime after your goalie makes 34 saves, it's stupid to insinuate that he is partially responsible for the loss.

We saw a "Vezina Trophy winning" performance out of Miller tonight, plain and simple.

Like I said, I know he's played well for us, and I know he had an amazing game tonight, but quite frankly I expect a little better from him.

It's a team game. They're all responsible for the loss.

You're right, it is a team game so everyone is at least somewhat responsible for a loss, but he is the last player to bring up when it comes to why we lost. He can't get a shutout every night.

To give credit where credit is due, I am echoing a little bit the points made by Coziol on the postgame report after the Chicago game (where he said "you'd like Miller to stop one of those two Hossa shots") and I kind of agreed.

Yeah. He should have stopped the second one. The first Hossa goal was a breakaway, and Hossa is most likely going to score on a breakaway. And tonight's goal was a perfect shot by Kovalchuk. Miller is great, but so are these players...he isn't going to stop them all. He stopped 34 out of 35 shots tonight while the team scored zero goals. I don't see what more he really could have done or how you could expect more from him tonight.

No goaltender would have stopped that shot. That was an incredible release by Kovie. Actually I suppose the only way Miller or any other goalie could have stopped that would be by being farther out to challenge a shot from that angle...however the play happened so fast he didn't have a chance to come out. No blame on Miller whatsoever, that was a great performance by him, and hopefully it will continue.

he has really stood out to me in the past 2 games. and you cannot blame miller for that goal. that shot was lethal. the only way he stops it is if he is out of position, because that entire play transpired instantly.

No, no one had time to pick up Kovalchuk Alex. I'm sorry, but Sekera was the guy to pick up Kovie. He screwed up and Kovie shot right after it was clear.

No one's fault but Sekera for getting faked out.

Uh no. Sekera was wrestling with Taormina for the puck. His job wasn't to pick up Kovalchuck. Roy actually needed to tie up Kovalchuk's stick instead of staring at him like a jackass.

Reggie has been great this season. You want to get pissed at any defender this year, it has to be Myers. I know I'm gonna catch heat for this, but the dude can't get a shot through this year, and is over thinking his game. Someone needs to tell him just to play, because he has (had) the best stay at home defensive partner he could ask for.

Hoping Shone isn't out long, because if he is, it's going to get worse before it gets better.
