Still, Miller did not expect the game to get too out of hand.

''People will be talking about it and there will be some emotion surrounding it but you're not going to condone a donnybrook and go old-school or whatever your guys are talking about. I'd like to think the game has evolved a little bit.''

I love Ryan Miller

Haha...he's right though. I want to see some sort of retaliation, but Colin Campbell said he's keeping an eye on Kaleta (said something like, "If I were him, I'd be careful about making threats."). So let's hope the Sabres aren't stupid about it.

If i were in Kaleta's shoes. I would take a run at Hjalmarsson and make sure to hit him cleanly but hard, and see what kind of shit CC will try to do. 5 games for a clean hit.

You know if Kaleta even steps on the ice when Hjalmarsson is out there they're going to give him a game misconduct. I wouldn't be suprised if the Sabres scratch Kaleta for that game.

I'd expect to see one fight, especially if McCormick is in, since it seems like he enjoys doing it. (And doesn't suck!!)

It just seems that the more buildup their is for a donnybrook, the less likely it is that it ever happens.

Another home run.

The league wants this blood bath hype, it means more money. And if a star gets hurt? Oh well. They will make even more money from the
"intensity" of the rivalry.

I can't wait until after Saturday night's game when people will be calling into WGR saying how our team is full of pussies because they didn't go all "old school" on Chicago and how Lindy Ruff needs to be fired because clearly he doesn't care anymore.

There's no need for any team to disgrace themselves by simply charging every player at every chance. A couple clean hits, a fair fight or two and a win is enough. What I want to see more of is immediate physicality when players run into/crowd Miller or push around the skill forwards just for being around the crease when the puck is there. I don't mean stupid roughing penalties, but coming in with a hard shove to move people away from Miller, and sticking up for each other more at the other end.

I'm guessing Miller isn't even going to play in Chicago.

is there any rhyme or reason to how much miller plays? and does Miller have any input on it or is it all the coaches? coming of a solid game Wed we should expect to see him Friday... and rest him on Sat? or if he plays well Fri will they just ride him into Sat... Id like to see him get a little more rest but can we rely on LaLa...

WGR reported that Lindy said he would like to see Lalime in one of the back-to-backs and that he met with Miller and Lalime to discuss when. I think Lindy would want to start Ryan at home especially after he had such a solid game against New Jersey.

Plus, if the media is going to make a big deal out of Saturday's game, Chicago might be expecting a rough game and will want to make a few runs at our goalie.

it seems to me that, if anything, lindy is trying too hard by constantly jumbling the lines up, which seems to counteract the type of effect he has in mind. also, putting to much faith in the "grittier" lines that we have doesn't serve well. i think lindy cares more than our team does, and it is reflected by the ice time each player receives. maybe instead of harping on lindy, who doesn't eat up cap space, people should start putting the team under the magnifying glass.

Yeah I don't think anything is going to happen. Hjalmarsson might get challenged, but I don't think he's going to drop the gloves, at least not against the likes of McCormick or Gaustad. Honestly, the one guy he might take on is Jochen Hecht, and Hecht will tune his ass.
