Sabres, Predators look to keep up early success

"Sabres – The last time Buffalo faced Nashville, each team was playing its third game in four nights, and the Sabres were near the end of a four-in-six stretch. It led to what coach Lindy Ruff called "the most boring game I've ever been involved with," one in which the Predators eventually broke through to win.

"They are almost a mirror-image of how we're playing, where it's tight-gap and puck pressure," he said. "They always have two men going. We've seen teams like Montreal will only have one going where we're able to pick our way and get in and get some opportunities.

"Nashville is different. You make a D-to-D pass, they're jumping the pass. You make a pass to your winger, the D are jumping that pass. There's not a lot of time, there's not a lot of ice. We're going to have to be good on our execution and we're going to have to make sure if they're going to tight-gap us, we get some pucks in behind them."

Sabres need to excel at their "dump and chase" - That requires "hustle", and finishing one's checks; a couple of concepts that only a fraction of this team has bought into.

sadly I have a feeling we will stay the course from last year and win by 1. buffalo will score in the last 5 mins in regulation to win 2-1

Just checked and it does look like those of us watching on Center Ice will actually be getting the MSG feed. I really don't understand what their doing at Center Ice showing the away feeds....weird

It's a phrase that basically means, if you wanna see the Sabres at the top, turn the rankings.

So the first 2 home games...including the season opener, we have the away feed, and the first away game...we have the home feed.

I'm glad to hear RJ for the first time this season, but I want some of what the center ice producer is smoking.

5-3 Buffalo

I'll be watching on delay tonight, but I will be at the party at the pub and at the chat to be sure. I like the lines tonight... Sabres break loose early and win 4-2.

I see Myers collecting another point, and the power play producing with two young studs on the point. Without Dumont, the Preds top line is neutered. Arnott can't win a game on his own. 4-1 Buffalo.

I think I'll stay with my opinion from last season, no predictions coming from me other than they win.

My bad...dude said he could handle it.

WOOT! RJ tonight! maybe by some magical line-crossing or solar flare interference or gnome manipulations it will actually be in HD as well.

Is Dumont "out" tonight?

I've always enjoyed the Sabres-Predators games. Here's hoping for a win tonight.

Do NOT push this button - Unless you're looking to get psyched for the game:

...you love it...you want it...c'mon, admit it. Bring it on.
