I don't know, he put up really impressive numbers indeed, but due to injury they aren't as great as they could have been.

Was he one of the best players in the league, of course he was.

I'm against retiring numbers under any circumstance, because if the world never ends and the NHL never folds, eventually all players will be wearing four digits. That's too much to remember besides being eye pollution during a game.

I do not see how wearing #66 is disrespectful. The number is retired only by the Penguins, not the NHL.
