That's such an exaggeration and you know it. I don't have a personal vendetta against Vanek like Markus seems to. I've said a few comments here and there about how frustrating it is to watch him come so close to scoring but he still can't find the back of the net. We all know how much Vanek means to this team. We all know how talented he can be when he's on his game. That's why it is so frustrating to watch him "almost" score.

Maybe it is an exaggeration, but to me it's been less of one than you probably think. Maybe it's been so frustrating because Vanek gets harped on unfairly a lot by others, maybe because there are probably a half dozen players on the roster that deserve it more (Grier, Niedermayer, Myers, Connolly come immediately to mind).

When your team is on a 5-game losing streak, most players on the team deserve criticism. I disagree with you thinking there's a lot more players on the roster that deserve more criticism than Vanek, I'll give you Connolly...but Grier and Niedermayer? I'm not buying that. And I always defend Vanek...seriously, don't try and lump me into the group of people who just seem to wait for Vanek to go on a slump so they can start making threads about why this guy is a lazy, overpaid bum. All I've said was how he is probably the must frustrating player to watch on the team. But whatever.

I don't think it tears us apart. I enjoy the theatrics, the over dramatic, the level headed and the openly calm or hostile debate.

It shows we all care about our team, and our team represents our city and region, which represents us.

When I called into WGR just after Hamilton was (during the Chicago post game show) even the host said he appreciated the passion. (And yes, I stated the old Regier remarks I have been making since I met you all and before)

I tend to jest with some on their comments, but I read each one on the team even if I don't respond to them and get a feel for how each of you view the team, in the past, now and what your thoughts are for the short and long term future for the team.

As much as Squanto and I go back and forth on a friendly basis (I think I'm his Sabres Fan Anti-Christ :D ) I can appreciate the different perspective or view he brings and, If you look at many of my posts, I concede on some substance of the issues with this time after further thought. In short, I'm a Type A personality that lets it go like a cannon, then refines it as further view points develope. Kind of like a light switch being turned on when someone brings up certain things.

All this is great, but it doesn't change my mind set that Darcy Regier in 4 seasons now, has done nothing to bring us back to contending for the promise land.

Both Grier and Niedermayer are -5 and have zero points... Grier HIMSELF has basically admitted that he's sucked and isn't playing the way he needs to. What criticism don't they deserve?

Good god, I never said that they DIDN'T deserve criticism. I am not going argue with you over what kind of criticism each and every player on the roster deserves. I responded to your claims that I am too defensive over Ryan Miller and apparently me being too harsh on Thomas Vanek for your liking. I think I've cleared up everything that you were originally bitching about. This has been played out. It's done.
