This is the second of 6 meetings between these two division rivals. Buffalo is trying to avoid losing five straight at home for the first time in 17 years. While the Senators are trying to avoid losing their first 4 road games since 1992-1993 since they lost a league record 38 in a row.
Ottawa has won the last 4 straight at HSBC and the last 8 of 9. Ottawa and Buffalo both have dismal PP conversion rates both under 10% this season. And both have respectable PKs.
Ottawa is 1-4-1 so far this season and Buffalo is 2-4-1, with their other previous win coming against Ottawa away. Leclaire is injured once again, and Elliot has lost his past two starts, we may see rookie goaltender Robyn Lehner in net on Friday when these two teams meet. We last saw the rookie at the Kraftville hockey game where he played really well but Buffalo got the win that game.
Myers, Vanek, and Ennis all got their first goal in Atlanta, and Roy has the 2 goals scored against the Senators so far this season. McCormick has a goal in his last two games.
Which team is going to make history on Friday night? Will Buffalo lose its first five straight at home or will Ottawa lose its first 4 away games for the first time in 17 years? Only one game will decide these two clubs and maybe how their season might unfold. Ottawa is openly rebuilding their team while Buffalo has a core intact plugged with veterans and a few rookies.
Also a story on Pominville, will he be playing in this game or will he be rested once more? Will Morrisonn recover to play or is his groin still wonky? No updates on either player are out, but Pominville is practcing with the club and only waiting until he is cleared to play.
Also with the goal from Vanek and from Myers, will we see a resounding confidence boost by both players and surely see points and great play from each? And is Ennis going to break through on the goal board with plenty of goals as he almost had four against Atlanta?
All I say is LETS GO BUFFALO, make the Senators your own and beat them in our HOUSE. Show them we are a team to contend with in the Eastern Conference, outshoot, outhit, and outscore your opponents on Friday.
