Attendance: 6,706 (38.3% full)

If that was the announced attendance, I can't imagine what the actual attendance was......

EDIT: As they say on 4chan, pic related: (Thanks to Puck Daddy)

at some point shouldn't they just invite everyone down to the 100 level to make it look better on camera?

Totally unrelated, but I can't stand seating designs that use that stub aisle for 5-8 rows or so in the middle of a section.

Dunno why, but it just bugs me.

Unbelievable. I thought they got a lot more fans because of their recent success. Stick a fork in the franchise, their done.

So sad, and the Atlanta game bummed me out too. Bettman's "let's force hockey into every market" approach has not worked in all of the cities. That combined with a fucked up economy (although isn't that area booming?) makes for some really depressing times.

I think the talent is spread a little thin around the league still. I think 24 teams with the top 8 making the playoffs would have been the best. And 60-70 regular season games is still plenty.

It's gotta be tough to play for a team nobody cares about.
Now I know why Phoenix played in Europe for the first 2 games, it was the only chance to selll out a Coyotes home game.

Check this out, it lists their home attendance for all 41 games last season. Pretty pathetic when you look at it.

Yeah I know. Guess its a classic example of what have you done for me lately. Fuck that place and move them back to Winnipeg

The only other team that has that horrible of attendance is the Islanders:

I mean hell, even the Panthers get more people to come to their games than Phoenix and New York.

I'm shocked about the Islanders. Shouldn't they have a solid fan base given their tradition and successful past.

Wow, and to think their second home game sold out and down 11,000 fans the third game.

They're crowded out in a market with 3 teams.
And they've done a whole lot of sucking lately.

It doesn't help them that their arena blows goats too.

Their arena is a dump. I've seen several games there, and the concourse feels like an ancient dungeon. The seats are small, and uncomfortable, even the boxes are about 30 years out of date. Hell the landing where you sit in the boxes is plastic seats, with a few padded stools, and some padded folding chairs. I shit you not.
