Yeah I know what you mean, thanks. So let us continue to remain here as fans, giving our money and interest to a team that has no chance of winning the cup. Let's keep our future picks and our guys in the pipe instead of taking a chance on building a Cup contending team. What I am saying is that we need to offer up what we have for a man or two that can actually produce for us instead of hoping our "stars" will start acting like stars. We have an elete goalie so why not build around him while he's still here instead of chasing him off by putting a crap team in front of him?

Kudos to Lindy for benching Rivet. His best coaching decision of the year so far(imo). Now if he'd start benching for dumb plays, we might get things going. As crazy as it sounds, I wonder if Chan's decisive coaching is rubbing off.

Good, because I see Sekera and Butler doing fine, and way better then Rivet was.

I have no problem with how those two are playing right now. He needs to start sending our forwards to the press box and work on our PK again.

cant with injuries to pomminville and gerbe now... who's left?

I'd really like to see Lindy start blaming the players more. Kind of like "well, I led this group of horses to the water, but I'll be damned, these fuckers just won't drink".

As you know, I don't like just slinging stats around, because life has intangibles. You wouldn't trade Vanek for Ryan straight up??

And Vanek had a higher ppg at that point in his career.

And has a higher shooting percentage.
And takes fewer penalties.

Who cares? I don't understand why it's hard to grasp that the contract is Darcy's fault, not Vanek's.

I don't care, and I agree with that too. I wish he didn't make what he makes, but he is still our best goal scorer on our team, and I am glad we still have him.

If the kid at Burger king serves me shit food, it's his manager's fault. Same principle. If it happens under your watch as GM(and the team subsequently falls apart), the it IS, indeed, your fault.

The underlying point is that Vanek and Ryan are similar players in terms of production. People have a boner for him because of the Olympics. How he played there is not how he plays every night.

That's just a downright retarded analogy. We don't need to rehash this. If Darcy doesn't fuck it up, Vanek is making about $5.5M per and nobody says jack shit about how much he's paid.

I had a boner for him before that. He's way better than Vanek(imo).

He's about to light it up on MSG plus. He's crazy in the 2nd and 3rd. Have a watch.

He's a different player than Vanek.

People want Ryan because he's physical, and Vanek isn't. That's all.

That is true, had he not dicked around and waited to sign Briere, Drury, and Vanek. None of this would have happened.

Vanek gets 5-6 million and we retain one of Briere and Drury still.

We didn't so Vanek gets 2 extra million which we could have used to sign a 6 million dollar player this year. haha

I don't blame Vanek one bit for signing that offer sheet, I would have done the same thing.
