Lalime had 37 saves, and got zero goal support. It clearly wasn't his fault.

Dear Tom Golisano,

I'm not sure if you've noticed, but your tax deduction hockey team has played itself out of playoff contention before Halloween. This is rare in our sport.

Please take your tongue out of Monica Seles' snatch and do something about it. I know you hate the taxes in NY, but it doesn't cost anything to call here.

Sincerely,

Your rapidly-becoming-apathetic fan base.

I'm not blaming Lalime for this at all. I'm saying that this team (not counting the goalies) is bad. The only reason why they looked good last season was because Miller was Superman. If the Sabres didn't have him this team would be near the bottom for the last few seasons.

Maybe they're just getting the losses out of the way now?

It's sad, and confusing to me how a team can go from where they were to a complete implosion in a single offseason.

I view this team as just a continuation of the '07-'08 team. I said to many people last season that I was surprised at the end-of-season point total this past season becasue there was A LOT of sloppy play. Many even commented on this throughout the latter part of the season especially.

Maybe chalk it up to Miller & Meyers having exceptional seasons to make the difference.

How many times did posters on this very board say if you take away those 2, this team is in trouble. Well, for whatever reason, both are struggling right now...and there really isn't any backup go-to group to compensate.

The equation:
S-(M+M)=3-7-2

It's everyone from Tom through Lindy. We have an owner who really doesn't give a shit about the team, a minority owner who doesn't know hockey from a hole in the ground, Darcy is a yes man who has no balls and Lindy who is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay past his prime as a coach and needs to realize that he will never ever win a stanley cup. I'm done with the Sabres right now and possibly for the rest of the season.

Sure. I've got like 25 bucks in my wallet.

I'm contemplating a drink right now.

You know what's gonna happen next? Lindy and Darcy will both be gone at the end of the year, Tommy G is going to announce to the public that he's sorry for all the dumb shit that's gone on over the last year and bring in a trade happy GM and a extremely fiery coach. 9 years of rebuilding will ensue.

If circumstances were in a perfect world, we would have an in-state majority owner with accountable new GM and head coach in place.

Nine years is not a rebuilding period. It is time to win games and Stanley Cup championships.
