Carcillo nailed him in the back after the puck was away from both players. That's interference and possibly/probably an intent to injure. It certainly was unnecessary. I don't know that he deserves more or less than Briere, but he shouldn't be getting off the hook for escalating things.

Say what you want about Briere, but at least he brings the fire and can play the game.

Briere took a big step down for me, I mean regardless of what the guy said, God forbid he call Danny short, but by this time in his career he should have heard it all and besides that you are completely demolishing the Islanders so why even bother listening to what he is saying. I saw Pronger just go into the little battle laughing, he was having a blast because his team was winning, he netted a goal or two and knew that doing something stupid now wouldnt make any sense at all. Regardless of good a player is this should not go unnoticed.

Just saying, these alarm bells weren't singing when he speared OV in the nut sack.

I also think that it's easy to judge one play without watching the rest of the game. For all we know, Nielsen may have been hacking at him the whole game. You've gotta be pretty pissed about something to do what Briere did.

Lastly, I like seeing passion. I like seeing emotions run high in a hockey game. That's something that we don't have enough of on this team.

I know it's definitely not a majority thing, but I was keen to his dirty tactics as a Sabre. They were few and far between enough to disregard them. But since he's left, he's done enough to earn the repeat offender tag as he's gooned up his game to be a Flyer. I don't like it. A player doesn't have to turn into a shitcock just cuz he signs in Philly.
